|This unit introduces students to the concept of business and to various interpersonal, group work and organisational skills essential for university |
|and employment success. Integrating theory with applied activities, students will develop skills in self-advocacy, personal management and information |
|management. Issues will be examined that relate to individual learning styles, group work, cross-cultural communications, business |
|communications, critical thinking and ethical behaviour. During the course of the unit students will be introduced to the concept of self-reflection, |
|self-discovery and peer assessment. |

|LEARNING OUTCOMES |
|On successful completion of this unit, students are expected to be able to: |
|Engage in self discovery through learning styles, personal preferences, self-reflection and developing emotional intelligence; |
|Participate constructively in teams, using group work techniques to critically analyse problems and identify alternative solutions; |
|Research, write and produce professional business documentation with appropriate language for various audiences; |
