Business Information System (BIS): Introduction “Information systems are the means by which people and organisations, utilising technologies, gather, process, store, use and disseminate information”

The information system underlies the concept that the organization is a complex adaptive system, which has the defined boundaries, structural communication channels, control and web of coordination. Information system integrates the system theories, resources and objectives together to get one conclusion in overall.
Components of BIS:
Data & Information: Understanding of how data, information and knowledge can be Information systems involves and functions by managing data, information and knowledge in any organization by mainly the modelling, storing and processing them. Different models and techniques are used in information systems to process, store, and organize and effective use of data, information and knowledge in organization.
Decision making: The main work of Information system is to provide the information for decision making on different level. This function is done by IS by designing the decision making path by creating and using the information needed to make that particular decision.
Strategic Development: The link between Information system and the strategic development can be identifying by role of IS in identifying the needs and paths of strategic development and its importance in assessing the consequences.
Designing the IS: Information System is designed in accordance to their deliverables, techniques and by counting the circumstances unique for each function or organization. During the design the main concern are the communication between the users and developers and taking the main features into account like the data protection and other ethical issues. Development & maintenance of IS: Development and maintenance of the Information system is done using different methodologies, tools and techniques and depend on the unique system
