Question: Choose any legal source of law in Tanzania and explain its relevance to Tanzania development
According to Carl F.Stydvin and Linda Mulcahy [2007}Law is the set of rules that governs a society and create a structure of authority or government to run the social order.
Law is binding on the person directed to. This is what is called normatively of the law, which means that the members of the society are bound to act in accordance with the law. The normatively of the law entails sanctions which are established in case of a rule of morality adhered to. Thus behind the rules of social behavior which are called law there is punishment for those who do not follow them.
According to Brundland Report 1987, development refers to development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs.
According to Rutherford L. a law is a rule of conduct imposed and enforced by the sovereign. But the law is the body of principles recognized and applied by the state in the administration of justice maintained that a rule of law is made on a pre-existing custom exist as positive law
Sources of Law of law in Tanzania, Tanzania’s legal system are based on the English Common Law system. It derived this system from its British colonial legacy, as it does the system of government, which is based to a large degree on the Westminster parliamentary model.
