Speight’s believes they have a tremendous obligation towards social responsibility. The product they produce and sell is a restricted (R18) item. They have to ensure that all advertising and promotional materials are appropriate and targeting the right audience. To establish that all advertising and promotional material are appropriate, there are a number of processes which each advertisement goes through, both internally and externally, to assure that everything is meeting the legal requirements. For the internal process, the sales and marketing team go over every piece of promotional material to ensure it is up to standard before sending it off to be checked over by external parties, such as the Lion Breweries legal team. All promotional activity is to comply with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. This Act …show more content…

Public image: Businesses that strive to develop their public image find it easier to increase their sales and have the ability to finance employees who are more suitable for the job. As the public view social goals with great significance, businesses can continue to uphold a beneficial public image by chasing public goals.
Better environment: if a business is to help out the society in which it operates in times of need, this would assist in maintaining or creating a better quality of life which, in turn, would appeal to skilled workers.
Long run profit: due to having an effective relationship with society and an improved public image, businesses that are more socially responsible are more likely to maintain a healthy long run profit.

Since there is a drinking age of 18 years old, Speight’s have an immense social responsibility with who they associate with.
