ABSTRACT
The author will discuss Ethics as it pertains to Business in today’s world. The author will explain can Business have moral ethics while defining different types of ethics. The author will support its argument with supporting definitions of types of ethics pertaining to her argument.

In today’s Business world the importance of standards and ethics is very important. However in most corporation or organizations the ethics is not what is important. The right thing to do would be treat your employees with in the standard of moral ethics. I personally believe you should treat your employees with respect just as you would customers. Although this does not occasionally take place more employers need to learn to treat their employees with the same regards as your customer. This may boost employee work ethics as well as profit. The point of the matter is ethics can exist in the Economic world, however organizations and corporations need to adhere to ethics or just plain courtesy would be nice. In this day and age many Businesses have many different policy and procedures in place to complete or perform a certain job or duty. However, Business does not conduct itself as moral agents. The majority of Corporation uses Utilitarianism. This is the belief that regardless of the struggle or pain the outcome of a profit is more important. Corporations encourages Categorical imperatives. Categorical imperatives is the practices of if one person does what it takes then the other individuals should have the same mentality.
Corporations tend to forget that people or employees are the same as CEO, COO, CFO, or as I call them the head of the business. Each individual have the right to Moral objectivism. Each individual has the right to Ethical Relativism. This is the right that certain actions are just wrong or right regardless of human opinion. In the medical field where I am

    Ethical behavior within a company is very important to its future and success. This type of behavior is not just important for the employees to follow, but for the entire company. In 2001, a failing company called Enron was involved in numerous unethical behaviors. For example, Enron’s Chief Financial Officer temporarily suspended their “code of ethics” not once, but twice in order to partake in personal financial gain. Enron’s actions eventually resulted in bankruptcy and assisted with the creation of a new set of guidelines for companies to follow. The so-called guidelines were called the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Titman, S., Keown, A.J., & Martin, J.D. 2011). The SOX helped institute a set of rules for companies to follow, one being the creation and compliance of a code of ethics within every company. One company that seems to do a very good job with complying with the guidelines of SOX is Starbucks Corp. They have a strong program set in place to support their mission of making ethical decisions at work. The use of their program “Business Ethics and Compliance” might just be the very reason why their SEC filings show a relatively successful business.…

    In business today there are many instances of corporations that act from an ethical standard, including the company that I work for. In the wake of scandals such as Enron and Imclone it is more important than ever that companies make an effort to push out improper behavior and practices if they wish to stay in business. One example of good business practices is the case of Henry Thomas, a cellular technician for Southern Bell, who was asked to randomly terminate five employees as a disciplinary measure. He refused to do so based on his moral code, and was then terminated. He decided to go into business for himself and dedicate his business to God. He states that, "The Bible tells us that God 's eyes are looking to and fro throughout the earth for those whose hearts are wholly committed to him.     Definitions of ethics abound. These include among others: The discipline dealing with what is good and bad and right and wrong or with moral duty and obligation (Hurn, 2008).
