Business Research Project Part 4: Data Analysis
Last week our team was tasked to analyze each team member 's sampling and data collection plan. With this research we were able to incorporate the best elements into one team sampling and data collection plan, also showing the strength and weaknesses, the differences and the collaboration of the team’s final results, to terminate the best statistical data for our business plan. We chose Surveys and Direct observation on our research project; we analyzed the company and identified the company’s Survey’s and Direct observation as our research problem. Based on that, we set our research hypothesis as the possible causes or reasons that lead the company to have a low percentage of surveys for this clubs and a high volume of extreme high strength when using direct observation.
Strengths and weaknesses
The strengths and weaknesses of any data research collection plan introduce positive and negative results. The main course is to introduce accurate results from the research that is being conducted. Every team member introduces different results from their own personal data collection statistics and interpretation. The action plan from each team member was the interpretation of having members from the V-club to upgrade their membership level status. The strength from those results was appealing and upfront positive accurate results. The opportunity to give every member the chance to upgrade their membership was successful for some team members allowing the data collection to be accurate. People were given the chance to upgrade their level to a higher chance in receiving free remedies all around the casino environment. Those remedies were the strengths behind the research and the collection of the data plan.
The weaknesses from some of the research conducted throughout the casino environment were appealing toward the upgrading part. Some members were told of the free remedies that come along with the upgrade of their memberships. People were allowed to make those decisions to upgrade or not. It was a decision that was only done by the member if they choose to upgrade. The reality from this weakness is that some people did not choose to upgrade because of the free remedies. They felt that those free remedies weren’t appealing enough to upgrade at that time. When people decided not to upgrade it changed the results from the data collection plan. Both the strength and weakness from the data collection results did challenge the experiment as a learning experience.
Differences
The Observational study and the Survey are both great methods of business research; they both gather information and allow the person to convert the data into useful information. Once the information is gathered the data will be explained. Both methods do have some similarities; however, they are different in how the information that is collected and analyzed. The Observational study allows the person to observe the experiment in the natural environment; therefore, gathering information with out manipulating the study. The Survey ensures that the person is aware of the purpose and the outcome of the survey, this survey will have questions that are easy to understand and relate to the purpose of the study. The studies cannot be manipulated; however, when the survey method is chosen the person conducting the survey can choose the population stated Donna Roberts in 2012. These two methods are a great way to gather information; however, it depends on how the person wants to gather the information and how to interpret the information.
Conclusion
This essay has been able to identify the purpose of an observational study and the purpose of conducting a survey and how this information can be explained. The observational study is method used to observe and analyze the experiments in their natural environment; therefore, the experiments are allowed to know of this action.. The survey is a serious of questions that pertain to the hypothesis questions and is conducted to a certain population based on questions that will retain the desired data. The main similarity between both methods is that the data cannot be manipulated. The difference is in how the data is gathered and interpreted. Both methods are great; however, it is beneficial to understand the methods for best results depending on what information being analyzed.
