WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS UNIT
The aim of this unit is to show learners that the collection and management of business information, and the successful communication of that information throughout a business, is critical for the future prosperity of the organisation. This assignment covers

•D1 evaluate the appropriateness of business information used to make strategic decisions

Scenario
You are working as information assistant for a company of financial consultants. The company needs an information sheet for staff to help them understand the different types of information. TASK 1 (THIS PROVIDES EVIDENCE FOR P1)

First, select an organisation from which you can obtain information, in this case Coca Cola.

For P1 describe the types of information used in the organisation, choosing one from each of the following categories: verbal, written, on-screen, multi-media, web-based. You should also describe the source and purpose of the information. A table is provided to get you started but you might like to produce your work as a presentation or a report in order to tackle the M1 task below simultaneously.

TASK 2 (THIS PROVIDES EVIDENCE FOR M1)

You need to analyse the different types of information by explaining the range of sources that they come from and explaining how they meet their purpose. Produce a report that provides a detailed explanation of each type of information and its source and how the different types of information work in relation to each other.
