Business Technology Trends
Information computing has entered a data-centric era, the storage industry is currently one of the hottest areas. The face of emerging storage needs new challenges, how do we grasp the future direction of storage it?
1, the storage virtualization
Storage virtualization is the storage technology hot spots, actually it is not considered the new concept, RAID, LVM, SWAP, VM, file system, etc. These are vested in its category. Storage virtualization technology has many advantages, such as improved storage efficiency and performance, simplify storage management complexity, green savings and reduce operational costs. Modern data applications in storage capacity, I / O performance, availability, reliability, efficiency, management, business continuity and other aspects of the storage system continuously put forward higher demand, based on available storage virtualization solutions can help data center deal these new challenges.
2, SSD
Solid State Drives (SSD, solid state disk) storage industry is currently much attention storage of new technologies, it is seen as a revolutionary storage technology, it might give the storage industry and even computer architectures bring profound changes. it is an electronic device rather than physical mechanical devices, it has a small, low energy consumption, anti-interference ability, addressing time minimal (or even negligible), IOPS high, I / O high performance characteristics. Therefore, SSD memory and external memory can effectively shorten the gap between the storage, the computer system had to solve the I / O performance bottleneck of many components and the role of technology will become increasingly insignificant, and even eventually be eliminated.
3.cloud storage
Cloud computing is undoubtedly the hottest IT topic, whether it is commercial gimmick or IT technology trends, which have been integrated into the life of each of us to work with them. Cloud storage is no different. Cloud storage is DaaS (Storage as a Service),

Over the past 30 years the cost of Electronics has steadily decreased. The cost of electronic storage has decreased greatly over the past 30 years as well. In this paper I will be talking about the decrease in the cost of RAM and Hard Drive Storage, how much will a 100TB HDD will cost when it becomes widely available in the future, and how much memory I will be able to buy with $100 in 10 years. In 1956, IBM created the first commercial Hard Drive called the IBM 305 RAMAC which held 5MB and cost a whopping 50 thousand dollars! Electronic storage started being more widespread during the early 1980’s, but it wasn’t until the 1990s that RAM and Hard Drive Storage begin to be cheap enough for the average person. Back in 1981 the price for one MB of Hard Drive storage space was $340! Most people couldn’t afford a computer back in the 1980’s because of the huge cost. Through the 1980’s the cost per MB fell from around $340 during 1981 then to $40 per MB in 1988, and finally to $9 per MB in 1990. The cost of one Bit of ram in 1981 was 0.000425 cents, in 1988 it was 0.000005 cents, in 1995 it was 0.000000158 cents, in 2000 the cost per Bit…

A main server that is big enough to route files in it for storage can help a computer and website run faster. Just as an external hard drive can store data on it away from a computer to free up the main hard drive can help a computer run faster. Cloud storage operates in the same concept, instead of having a hard drive, there is a huge server with a lot of storage. In this paper, the company that I have chosen has issues with server space and need a newer solution to developing a better service to the company and its production facilities. I will explain what it will take to boost service speed and help the company to ship products out faster with just a solution in server space.…

A solid-state drive is a drive that uses non-volatile memory as a means of storing and accessing data, similar to computer RAM (SSD, 2014). An advantage the solid-state drive has over other hard drives is no moving parts. This allows the solid-state drive to access information faster, produces no sound, and significantly more reliable than the common hard drive. The first solid-state drive was designed and implemented between the 1970s and 1980s. Throughout the years, the storage capabilities have improved drastically. Sadly, due to the cost per GB of storage, these solid-state drives have not replaced the current hard drive in computers today.…

Creative Technology (CT) has just pioneered a high-performance disk drive for engineering workstations. The market for this product is highly lucrative because very few companies have the technology to develop a competing product. Storage Technology (ST) has the needed design expertise and has decided to enter the market to compete with Creative Technology. After careful screening of different new product ideas, Storage Technology finds the following three product design options attractive:…

Technology has taken great leaps of advancement. Some of the new technology that companies and consumers are taking advantage of to store and process data is cloud computing. Cloud computing was derived from virtualization. Virtualization allows companies to separate business applications from hardware. Doing this gives the company the capability of assigning applications as needed. The option to manage applications is a great benefit to companies. Resulting from the virtualization error, cloud computing has emerged to provide flexible IT infrastructures. This has not only enhanced the options companies now have, but it is also proven to be more cost efficient. This has increasingly become a preferred method of companies and consumers alike.
