The bust of Nefertiti …show more content…
For example, the feud between the Turkish government and the American museum is similar to this same feud. Although it can be seen how German is stubborn to protect its new property, other hand United States returned the coins to the Turkish government. Also, another point of view can be seen from what happened with the artifact in Turkey when it was returned and an argument can be stated saying that these ancient countries are now not capable of taking care of its own artifacts. The reason behind this example is since the coins which were acquired from the New York City Metropolitan Museum of Arts were later stolen by the same government official who worked tirelessly to ensure this coin returns back to Turkey. However, later on, they were not given enough security and the rest is history. This is another perspective to look at this situation since similar arguments can be made by Germans by stating the Bust of Nefertiti is not safe in Egypt.
My proposed solution is against my will but I do think the Bust of Nefertiti should remain in Germany instead of giving its ownership to Egypt due to its own safety. The reason behind my statement is since the political climate of Middle-East may have an impact on this ancient artifact and has the possibility of being destroyed by radical groups. When in one hand, Germany will provide the artifact a full safety and other hand it will be open to the public to view. But I do think Germany should state that it belongs to Egypt and it was acquired by them
