But I was silent.
Whenever I write an essay, I constantly suppress myself under an obsession that must be perfect. And the only few words are written of the paper. I am confined to such feelings for what, I can not know. I'm exhausted while I'm suppressing. And I ask in prison that imprison myself. 'What is writing for who.' However it is not be changed even if I ask again and again. Always I can't answer. To say 'for myself', I do not like too suppression of this prison, it is not be changed. I can't answer again. But I was silent.

Many people, when tasked with an essay, will groan and procrastinate. However, in my case, I rather have that assignment over anything else. I love to explain things, why I know them to be true, and how they work. Additionally, I enjoy journaling about my day to day experiences, fleshing out how I could better myself and handle problems differently. I see writing as a creative outlet — not a task to be checked off. Although I loved a good book when I was little, my recent love for literature springs from my experiences this past school year in AP Language and Composition. I took this class a year early in order to participate in AP Capstone. I enjoyed getting to explore and discover the true meaning behind the words they wrote.…

My essay describes my one-draft writing process that has the advantage of minimal writing time, but also the disadvantage of procrastinating due to the short time needed to finish. Throughout my essay I argue that students often use excuses such as, "I work better and more creative under pressure," which leads to procrastination and unhealthy effects on the body. In my essay I provide ways in which students can avoid procrastination and improve their writing.…

“While confined here in the Birmingham city jail, I came across your recent statement calling my present activities ‘unwise and untimely’. Seldom do I pause to answer criticism of my work and ideas. If I sought to answer all the criticisms that cross my desk, my secretaries would have little time for anything other than such correspondence in the course of the day, and I would have no time for constructive work. But since I feel that you are men of genuine good will and that your criticisms are…

Two years ago, I would say nothing in particular provokes me about writing. I would rather spend my valuable time on presentations or discussions than writing research papers. I always found myself was lost. I couldn’t focus on the content of my prompt. I failed to make my words convincing and authoritative. I am not a good researcher, also not an outstanding rhetorical writer, even today, but I did find something valuable on myself in these two years.…

First, I must say that I am a writer that procrastinates a lot. I’ll have good intentions to start an essay when I first get home, but then I get hungry, look up car parts, and lose interest in writing the piece. But, once I get in the swing of writing I can normally stay focused. I usually write essays in a calm, quiet environment, occasionally…

Writing is something that has always been difficult for me. I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist, but instead of it being a driving force, it’s been more of a dead weight. I worry about everything and if it’s perfect, okay, just right, or downright terrible. Because of my perfectionism, I find it difficult to start or finish work, sometimes even both. While my perfectionism can be a hindrance to my work as a whole, it more specifically targets my ability, or inability, to choose topics to research and write about as well as citations, when it’s deemed necessary.…

Writing in journals for class or writing stories for entertainment proved to be great fun. The writing level of elementary and middle school was easy to learn and work with. Arriving in high school, I felt confident in my writing skills. High school level writing proved to be more challenging. After English I, I felt unprepared for the rest of my high school writing experience. I grew to become uninterested in writing for the next two years. I procrastinated finishing any writing assignment I was given. Though I received decent grades on my assignments, I could have received better grades had I not procrastinated writing my assignments. My attitude toward writing has changed from disinterested to excited with my Composition I and II classes. I have learned much in the first semester of this course and I have grown to enjoy writing again because of this…

Hello, I am writing my essay about the greatest writing challenge of my life that I had to face as a senior in high school. I learned through this experience the importance of being able to write a research paper and also how to deal with learning obstacles. Before this experience I thought I was an excellent writer, but afterwards I realized that we all have to overcome the challenges of learning to read and write at certain times in our lives.…

Sweat slowly trickled down the side of my face. Every second brought a sharp “tick!” from the clock; every second caused my stomach to sink lower and lower. I started to feel the pressure increasing second by second as time crept closer and closer to the deadline. Hastily, I wrote my introduction like it was nothing; a simple four sentence introductory paragraph. Words were flying through my head, channeling all the way down to my fingers. Abruptly, I looked at the clock and it was already 11:31 PM. I told myself, “I can do this. It’s a lot easier than I thought!”. I felt the adrenaline rush kick in as I started to write my body paragraph. I craved the euphoria that I felt as I wrote my essay; the pressure that overwhelmed me was simultaneously fuel to my mind.…
