The life cycle of a butterfly goes like this egg,larva,pupa,butterfly the egg hatches turning into larva then the larva turns into a pupa and the pupa turns into a butterfly then the butterfly starts the process all over again. catapiller or larva eats leaves so when you see them in your garden eating on your leaves they are eating but the first thing they eat is their own eggshell. the catatpiller then turns into a pupa which is cocoon that they live in until the turn into this beautiful butterfly. Males and females of the same species recognize one another by the size, color, shape and vein structure of the wings, all of which are species specific. Many male butterflies deliver more than just sperm to their mates. Most provide a spermatophore, a package of sperm and nutrients the female needs to produce and lay eggs. Females store the sperm in a sac called a bursa until she's ready to lay her eggs. For this reason, males of some species will leave a substance that dries into a film on the female's abdomen in an effort to keep her from mating with other males.
To me a butterfly is beauty and transformation I am able to start over again and do things right butterfly means metamorphosis, soul, courage to change and change is good for everyone. it takes steps in order to change courage to change is the reason I chose the butterfly as you watch the butterfly go from one to form to another it gives hope that it can be done in me as well in small steps to change the things I feel that needs to be worked
