My perspectives of life and morality will allow me to contribute to Liberty University’s missions in a number of ways. I see my purpose in life as merely a chance to change lives and to obey the calling that God places on my heart. I believe it is my jobs as a child of God to be the hands and feet of Christ no matter where that takes me. As a pastor’s daughter, I have been taught the perspectives of life and morality and how they reflect the way I live my life. I keep my perceptions of life and morality positive so I am assured my light for Christ is never mistaken or never overlooked. These perspectives will allow me to contribute a lot towards Liberty University’s missions and will allow God to use me for the advantage of His glory.…

As Christians we have a message of hope. We are taught in Proverbs 13:12, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.”1 We know that hope as Jesus Christ, the Messiah who came to save us. As the most commonly known scripture of our world tells us, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”2 However, many people in our world today still do not know Him as Savior and Lord of their life. As Christians our mission, as was the mission of Christ is to lead others to a saving knowledge of Himself. God uses us as His children to help fulfill the mission of calling everyone unto Himself. This paper will develop a theology of missions by looking at the Old and New…

I have a heart for community service, which led me to join the Social Justice ministry at First Corinthian Baptist Church (FCBC) in Harlem. I traveled with the ministry to Albany, NY to attend an education lobby and rally day, for the first time. Once we arrived, we met with an assemblyman and advocated for his support of Universal Pre-K (UPK); which would provide free full-day prekindergarten classes for all the four-year old children in New York. The UPK was approved and it was rewarding to have advocated for a program that was successful, and would benefit my community. After this experience, I participated in the Advocacy Academy with the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies. This was an inter-faith advocacy training that prepared me to continue advocating with the Social Justice ministry. Upon completion, I earned a Community Advocate Certificate.…

You know the value of hard work. You understand the importance of self-reliance. When you leave here today, you will quickly discover something: People will be drawn to you in droves. Your strength and rugged individualism are powerful forces. Like steel to a magnet, the force of your character, your ability, your instinct, and your willingness to put trust in nothing but your own skill and ability; these traits will pull at the heart and inspire the minds of those who have been conditioned to place their faith in the progressive state. Let them come, Beacon students, let them come. Inspire them with the power of your sense of self. Lead them. And, in the process, show them that faith in God, faith in the family, and faith in self is the only true source of strength. Let them not abide the false prophets who offer salvation in the laws of men. I call on you to lead, Beacon students; I call on you to lead us out of the…

Is That Really You, God? Hearing the Voice Of God is the story of how one man's dream of seeing young people impact the nations by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ became Youth With A Mission, widely known as YWAM, an inter-denominational and international Christian missions organization. It shares the amazing journey that Loren Cunningham and his wife Darlene shared in discerning God's voice and trusting in His direction. In his book, Cunningham shares both the trials and triumphs of seeing God turn his dream from vision into reality. He shares that the most important tool one could have is to be able to discern the voice of God personally. The reliance on others to have your redeemed relationship with God was unacceptable to Cunningham. Consequently, the key principle of the importance of having a personal relationship with God directly translated into the guiding principle of all YWAM schools:…
