In Peace Like a River, the chapter titled "By the Grace of Lurvy" is significant to the chapter because when Lurvy dies, he leaves the Lands his new Airstream trailer. In the text, Reuben talks about how Tin Lurvy had been ill, and that "to Jeremiah Land he had left his brand new Airstream trailer. a twenty footer with a kitchen and every necessary thing, a luxurious purchase" (Enger, 127-128). The title is also significant because it is only by Lurvy's unfortunate death and his kind gift that the Lands could find Davy. In the text, the Lands go on a roadtrip to the west to find Davy. They take this trip in their new Airstream trailer, and they eventually find Davy.
