People of color has always been seen as the “other”. It has been known for years, and now been seen. It ranges between police contacts to job interviews. Unfortunately, people of color have a high population of being incarcerated and arrested simply because of where they are in the social stratification spectrum. In addition, many are not hired on jobs because of the color of their skin. I have not experienced any of this myself, but have witnessed it. Gender inequality also has been occurring over the years and is still an ongoing issue. It shows signs of disparity and shows that the super rich control the money flow from the government while the rest continue to suffer. In addition, we see gaps within each class, and with that comes limited resources. This is seen all over the United Stated, and particularly in my community. My community ranges from working class to middle- upper class depending on where you live in town. I conduct comparisons between the two when it comes down to education. Private vs. Public. I work at a public school, so I see not only the type of students that attend the school, but also the type of funding it receives. Whereas, in private schools, I have family members attending them and see that the majority who attend come from middle to upperclass. Their schools are built as state of the art, while these public schools who obtain middle to lower class students do not receive as much resources as they
