What's a CNA? Some people think Certified Nursing Assistants aren't very important but that's not the case. Do you know what CNA’s do on a daily? In my English class everyone was assigned to write a three page Iserach paper on a topic of your pick. A Isearch paper isn't the same as a research paper. A Isearch paper is a paper that consist more of the process you went through to get the research rather than the research you actually got. I chose CNA as my topic because i plan on becoming a CNA in my High School vocational class next year. I figured i could go ahead and have some prior knowledge before I get take that class. At first i was extremely confused about what a Isearch paper was but then i realized i was only overthinking it.…
It’s amazing how much time is given to elder care but without it many older adults would suffer. With the number of older Americans growing there is an increase need for care but the appropriate funding is required on both ends financially and more support and education is need among staff and administration to actually supply the proper essentials to the aging population. Being a CNA goes beyond caring for sick patients and keeping their patients healthy in a variety of setting as Ai-Jen Poo mentioned in the audio interview incorporating those attributes of dignity and value into the work and allowing the geriatric population to be surrounded by love care and connection is vital to getting older. Nursing aides are the backbone of these health…
I do not think Nurse Practitioners should be required to take a comprehensive care exam. Nurse practitioners already belong to professional practice organizations and they are already required to acquire continuing education credits in order to be re-certified every 5 years. Therefore I would argue that, besides gaining new education and skills from their daily work and work environments; they already have enough going on to ensure their knowledge stays current without the need to add an extra exam to their busy schedules. Further, and this is probably my most poignant argument on this topic, there are no studies to my knowledge, that have been conducted showing the benefits of continuing comprehensive care exam testing beyond the initial certification exam; and whether or not it correlates to greater clinical proficiency, and more importantly, better patient outcomes.…

Becoming a Registered Nurse has been something that I want to become in the future, since I was twelve years old. At that time I experienced having my niece hospitalized when being a month old from pneumonia. Those moments are hard experiences that no one would like to experience but it is part of life. Therefore since that time I want to make a difference on the people who have to be hospitalized, helping them to recover. Although I would like to specialize with infants and children because they have a lower immune system and those are the most fundamental years of their lives.…

CNAs spend more time with the resident than any other staff member. They are the eyes and ears of the healthcare team. Observing any changes in the resident’s conditions and reporting them is a very important role. The Cna is In charge of charting any information about the resident. For example the roles the Cna follow everyday is never different, they help the residents get dressed and they help them be safe throughout the facility, they encourage them to eat and drink, making their beds, giving them showers etc. Cna’s have so much stress in their daily living they need to multitask and get things done at a certain time. The most important role is keeping the residents happy, safe, and make them feel like they are home. To be professional in your health care job such as being a Cna is to always address your residents as Mr. or Mrs. And by following the facilities policies and procedures, keeping a positive attitude, being well groomed neat and clean, doing tasks assigned by charged nurse only, listening to residents needs, keeping residents information private, chart everything correctly. Some of the good qualities a nurse aid should have is being compassionate is being caring, considerate, concerned, and understanding, empathy means entering into the feelings of others, In order to give care to a resident they must feel trust in the caregivers. Being honest with a resident about what he/she can I cannot do will help develop trust. Whenever they tell a resident they will do something they make sure to do it. These actions will help them develop trust with the resident, Prejudiced they will be working with many different types of people with many different types of backgrounds. Give each resident quality care regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or religion. In other words treat others as they were to treat you. The message that the Cna’s are trying to illustrate is that being a nurse or nurse aid or…
