CUN-OKAY Light Shelf Position And Latitudes
The results connected with the aim of the study are as follows:
1. The most suitable light shelf size/position is determined on 6 latitudes for 3 different office heights.
2. The correlation between light shelf size/position and latitude is created from arrangement of light shelves according to latitudes for different office heights.
3. CUN-OKAY light shelf curves are obtained by joining interior and exterior end points of suitable light shelves separately according to latitudes for 3 different office heights.
4. A new method is found to use CUN-OKAY light shelf curves for random latitudes and random office heights except used in this study.
5. The use of CUN-OKAY curves are tested and it is achieved %97 accuracy of using these curves on a random latitude between 0-75 and for a random office height between 3m-4,8m within determined conditions in this study.
6. The method used to determine the suitable light

CUN-OKAY Light Shelf Curves and Use of CUN-OKAY Light Shelf Curves On Random Latitudes Between 0-75

CUN-OKAY light shelf curves are formed from 6 main latitudes (0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75). The latitudes between these numbers are obtained by pairing curve parts and dividing into equal pieces. E.g. For 3m office height, the latitudes between 0-15 are obtained by dividing the curve part equally between 0 and 15 latitudes.
Detailed forms of CUN-OKAY light shelf curves are shown in Table 2. The latitudes are numbered from 0 to 75 for each different office height.
The use of CUN-OKAY light shelf curves to find the suitable light shelf for a random latitude between 0-75 is performed by just drawing a horizontal line from one curve to the pair of it for the same latitude. E.g. The suitable light shelf on 19 latitude for 3m office height is obtained by drawing a horizontal line from interior curve to exterior marked by 19. The line is the base of the suitable light shelf obtained from CUN-OKAY light shelf curves & 5cm is accepted for light shelf thickness (Table

CHAPTER 9: DEVELOPING LAYOUT STRATEGIES The objective of office layout strategy is to develop a cost-effective layout that meets a firm’s competitive needs. There are seven types of layout: 1. Office layout – positions of workers and their equipments to provide movement of information. 2. Retail layout – allocates shelf space and responds to customer behavior 3. Warehouse layout – addresses trade-offs between space and material handling 4. Fixed-position layout – addresses the layout requirements of large projects 5. Process-oriented layout – deals with low-volume, high-variety production 6. Work-cell layout – arranges machinery and equipment to focus on production of single or group related products 7. Product-oriented layout – seeks the best personnel and machine utilization in continuous production Office layout is the grouping of workers, their equipment and spaces to provide for comfort, safety and movement of information. The main distinction of office layouts is the importance placed on the flow of information. Managers examine both electronic and conventional communication patterns, separation needs and other conditions affecting employee effectiveness. A useful tool is the relationship chart. Retail layout is an approach that addresses flow, allocates space and responds to customer behavior. The main objective of retail layout is to maximize profitability per square foot of floor space. Warehouse layout is a design that attempts to minimize total cost by addressing trade-offs between space and material handling. The objective is to find the optimum trade-off between handling cost and costs associated…

orientation of a building (e.g., south orientation versus west orientation) does not change its compactness, but may affect thermal performance given changes in insolation and shading conditions. Given these critical considerations, the present study examines the reliability of geometric compactness indicators for energy-related evaluative assessments based on extensive parametric thermal simulation studies. We explore, via variations of building morphology and transparence (the size and distribution of transparent enclosure components), the limitations of exclusive reference to shapes compactness in thermal performance assessment guidelines and standards. Specifically, we demonstrate the thermally relevant interdependencies between compactness and transparence for a specific climatic context and for a morphologically varied class of residential building shapes.…

We think the idea of display area is very innovative. Nowadays online shopping is prevailing, while enjoying the convenient of online shopping, people also realize that for some particular products, they do want to visit a physical store, touch and feel the products, learn how to use them, such as furniture. However, with an innovative beginning, the rest of process suffers the inconveniences of traditional furniture store: hard to find the items from a big warehouse or struggle to move heavy items, long waiting when check out and have some troubles to carry the item back to home (queen size mattress for example).…

To estimate impedance function, distance as a proxy of travel cost between pairs of origins and destinations is calculated by ARC GIS 10.2 which considers the length of the shortest available route. To calibrate the best impedance function, the frequency distribution of walking trips is plotted against distance. By fitting different types of functions (i.e., exponential, multiplicative exponential, linear, logarithmic, polynomial, power) and comparing standard error of the estimates’ values, the best impedance function is derived which is negative exponential (see Table 2 and Figure 3). It is worth noting that, while it is less discussed that which of different impedance functions’ specifications contain the supreme effect among accessibility…
