Aspects of proper design:
• A properly designed structured cabling system is based around components or wiring units. An example of a wiring unit is a story of an office building. All the work locations on that floor are connected to a single wiring closet. All of the wiring units can be combined together using backbone cables as part of a larger system.
• The transition point is where one type of cable connects to another, such as where round cable connects to under-carpet cable. A transition point can also be a point where cabling is distributed out to modular furniture.
• Recognized Media recognizes two types of media that can be used as horizontal cabling. More than one media type may be run to a single work-area telecommunications outlet; for example, a UTP cable can be used for voice, and a fiber-optic cable can be used for data.
Why is it important
• Outsourcing has increasingly become essential all round the globe. However, with the use of computers and internet in offices, it is essential that the electrical design and cable management in the office is properly planned to avoid mishaps.
• While computer networking allows flexible sharing between two or more computers, cable management allows flexible working of electrical devices in the office. It is essential that every organisation looks into its cable management options to ensure a safe working environment for the employees and themselves. Although this may seem complicated, cable management is no rocket science. It is just organising all the cable wires that connect computers and equipment in the office. Every organisation, big or small, must have an electrical design And installation that takes care of cable management and computer networking.
Tools that should be used
• Compression tool
• Wrench
• Cable stripper
• Siamese stripper
The makeshift tool I will be coming with is the two in wrench
