Cadbury
. Cadbury is a chocolate confectionary market started in 1824 by John Cadbury in Birmingham. He started with a shop selling coffee, tea, drinking chocolate and cocoa. This was started due to his believe that alcohol was the main cause of poverty in their society. Hence he thought chocolate drinks can be an alternative for alcohol. By 1842, John was already selling 11 kinds of cocoa and 16 kinds of chocolate drinks. Benjamin, John’s brother also joined him in his company to form Cadbury Brothers of Birmingham. From there their sons George and Richard carried out the business, expanding it and they made lots of profits. The business was run by many generations till now by the Cadbury family. Now Cadbury is run by Roger Cadbury since 1996.Currently Cadbury has operations all around the world including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Unites States, Australia, New Zealand and India. Cadbury has also involved itself in commitments such as the Cocoa sourcing commitments, Environmental commitments and The Cadbury Foundation.
3. Cadbury chocolates fall under the category physical needs, food. Needs of consumers would always be similar among them but wants vary according to the consumers’ tastes and preferences. Consumers’ needs would always be rich in quality chocolates that can satisfy them whereas their wants differ. There are consumers who want family packs, some who wants free gifts in addition to a certain amount of chocolates purchased and some would want different flavours such as white chocolate, chocolate with caramel, chocolate with mint or even dark chocolate. Kids would go for chocolates in different shapes, sizes and different colours.
4. Cadbury has adopted the social benefits approach to build customer relationships. Cadbury uses its www.cadbury.co.uk/ to build relationships with chocolate addicts and chocolate lovers by providing tantalizingly delicious recipes from the Cadbury collections, ideas, opinions, and inspirations for decorating your chocolate

    Where Cadbury has used the marketing strategy of branding they have been massively successful, their logo is iconic, it is recognised worldwide, it is most recognised in the U.K this is more than likely due to the fact that Cadbury originates from the U.K, so it advertised more. The logo has been around for many decades now it has weaved its way into people's perception of what chocolate is, when people think of chocolate the first thing is a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, that is how much it has been plastered around for years. Another aspect of branding in which Cadbury has made strong uses of is the colour and text, they have packaged all their products in a darkish purple, this shade of purple is perceived to be luxurious, smooth and comforting, and when these colours are seen you instantaneously think of Cadbury which makes you think that their chocolate bars are luxurious, smooth and comforting, all the things a customer wants from a chocolate bar. The text itself, saying "Cadbury", is written in an elegant font and also is thick, so it looks like Cadbury is written in chocolate although is still stylish and grand.
