Camaro Vs. Mustang
The Ford Mustang and the Chevy Camaro have been rivals since the mid 60's. Fords Mustang was first introduced in early1964 as a sportier, more compact version of the Ford Falcon. Chevrolet didn't pay much attention to the ever so popular Mustang for about two years. Seeing as how popular the new sports car was, Chevy started brainstorming ideas for their own four-seating sports car. Hence the Camaro was born in early 1967. Although the Camaro's first generation lasted for three years, Mustangs first generation stayed around for nine years. The 1969 Yenko bears the legendary 427 big block that pushes 430 horse, 450lb-ft of torque, and the ZL-1, which sports the first 427 aluminum block made by Chevy. This monster of an engine pushed out close to 500 horse, and 475lb-ft of torque.
In the early 80's both car companies went through some dramatic changes. For instance, the thunderous V8's were replaced with six cylinder engines, and Mustang even had a few four-cylinder engines out there as well. You ask why these famous muscle cars turned to smaller engines, its simple; fuel economy. These engines didn't use near as much gas as their big brothers, and were more environmental friendly.
There is a lot of controversy over the two cars; people who think the Stang (Mustang) is a better car, and people that think the Maro (Camaro) is a better car. It is all a matter of personal opinion, and what you like in a car. Such as: price, engine size, interior room, performance, economy, and of course, the company of which it's made by. For me, the Camaro is the car of my choice, for others it is the Mustang, but before you choose which car is the car for you, I would recommend doing some research on both renowned cars.
