It was a beautiful fall day in the lovely village called Camelot it was absolutely gorgeous with the crisp autumn wind billowing through the red, orange, and yellow leaves of the trees. I could play with Archer and Prince Philip all day but sadly it was supper time and mother would be very mad if i’m late. As i open the door to the small cottage mother and i share I saw the blood, the blood of my mother gushing out I rush over to my mother as fast as i can to my mothers already cold body I started to say the incantation the one that I knew could save her i fought with every ounce of strength i had batteling with fate for my mothers soul but it wasn’t enough the spell back fired and hit me leaving me

All I do is look over to my mother and remember all of the times we had together how kind and loving she was all she sacrificed for me my eyes started to water I begin to bawl. Grandpa starts saying in a solemn voice “ I was able to heal most of the side effects from the backfire of the incantation except..” I look over at the piece of my hair that turned from my original dark brown to lilac. Grandpa is the only family I have left which leaves me no choice but to leave Camelot the only place I've ever known and Prince Philip and Archer the only friends I've ever had in my short 10 years. It’s been 6 years since that dreaded day ever since the moment grandpa and I got this cottage buried deep in the woods outside of Camelot he’s been teaching me how to strengthen my magic energy and at this point, I can beat grandpa every time we duel. Every morning I go out into the small field in our tiny spot in the forest and practice incantations but this time is different a carriage pulls up to the …show more content…

“Grandpa!” I shout. “What in my beard do you need child!” he hollers back. He then look out the window to see the king standing there he rushes down our 3 story house as fast as possible. “Hello old friend,” said King Arthur II of Camelot. While those 2 are talking I go back to practicing my incantations as I start waves of lilac and blue start coming out of my hands surrounding my body I feel my feet starting to leave the earth a big burst of energy leaves my body and creates 2 roses one on each side of my body I slowly start slowly floating back to the ground I was so happy that was the highest level of incantation I've ever done. I look over to grandpa and King Aruther and the look of astonishment on their faces made me laugh. Next thing I knew I was in the carriage with the king heading to Camelot to be the Kings' personal Sorceress. I spend the entire time of our short trip thinking about Archer and Prince Philip. “I hope they haven’t changed” and “ I wonder if they remember me” were the 2 that wouldn’t stop recurring. As we arrive at the palace I see a short and beefy man with short platinum blonde hair and a constant look of disguised on his face. “Wait it

Darkness surrounds Lydia, her body is trembling, and she feels weak. Her head is spinning, while her stomach churns. She has had her suspicions, woman’s intuition you might say. Her fears became reality when the truth surfaces, her husband is being unfaithful. She is shaking, even though it is an unusually warm January day. Shaking, not because she’s cold. The color has drained from her body and she feels ill. There is a giant hole in her heart, and the pain is unbelievable.…

As I ran, I heard my footsteps echo through the streets. I had no idea where I was going, only that I needed to get far, far, far away from the castle. I remember his last-minute parting words- barely a whisper- “I will give you a one day head start, and then I will find you.” I remember the echo as I bolted down the stairs, running as fast as I could.…

I stared back at my mother in awe, her face crinkled with pain, flooded with tears and flushed as she watched her son drift into the distance. How I wish I’d never gone to that dreadful war, it was the worst thing I’d ever experienced. As tears began filling my eyes, another strong breeze whipped us into another timeline, a new place too.…

I looked around and I wasn’t in my room anymore, I was in the hospital during my grandpa’s surgery. The waiting room was cold and sterile and the smell of antiseptic was so strong I could taste it. Waves of uneasiness washed over me as if they were trying to drown me. My grandma and my mother were sitting in the room with me and they looked just as scared. I remembered how long my grandpa was in surgery to get his windpipe removed, how I had thought that I wouldn’t make it through the hours he was and that if he didn’t then I wouldn’t make it for much longer afterward.…

I awoke in the early hours of the morning as usual. The air was thick and wet, but the day’s hunt wouldn’t wait. I got up and stretched my legs before checking the traps I set the evening before. The forest seemed unsettlingly too quiet. Did I wake up earlier than I usually would have? I walked down to the waterhole, to see if any of my nets were filled. There was a soft mist over the shallows, creating an ominous feel. I checked up and down the banks, but my nets had all vanished. With the sounding of the raven’s caw, I decided to head back up to camp. I heard a quick rattle in the leaves due east of my position, so I made haste to draw my bow and hold her steady in firing position. My breath was heavy as the musk in the air poured into my lungs.…

What a perfect time to return home in Camelot. Even though i do not have a permanent residence in which i can call my home, King Arthur's castle is the one place i can rely to be welcomed and treated as family. I refuse to complain, however after spending much of the year surveying the kingdom, i have grown quite tired. Only after arriving at the gigantic stone walls protecting the closest family i have, do i realize how much i missed being here. Upon entering, i am greeted with yells and shouts, applause and laughter as me and my fellow knights have survived long enough for another reunion. Voices overlap with,"Take a seat!", "Have a drink!", "Tell me the stories of your journies, it's been too long!", and soon enough my mind is clouded with pure happiness and the undying emotion of gratefullness. What better time to be home than for the holidays. Last year i was unable to enjoy this moment because lady Guinevere's mother was ill. King Arthur wanted me to accompany her on the journey to visit her. He would have gone of course but i assured him it was far too dangerous for him to leave, and what better hands to leave her in than my own? A week we traveled in horribly cold weather. Up rocky mountains and across large barren fields of ice we traveled. I remember during that bleak time, some scruffy purple tinted balls sparsely sprouted throughout the snow. They seemed to be the only thing to bring a smile to the ladies face. "Even beautiful things can sprout from the most harsh and brutal environment", i nodded understanding this was the sign of hope she needed. So on my way here, i decided to take a different route, only slightly out of the way. A few more hours was every bit worth the look on lady Guineveres face when i handed her several plucked snow flowers. I know eventually i will have to leave, and i await the challenges coming my way with great anticipation, for serving my king is the greatest honor. However, i do not deny that i wish nights like these never…

It’s been about 6 months since I’ve arrived here in Germany. There have been many attacks but the most recent one has a story attached to it. This attack was considered the Second Battle of the Mansurian Lakes or as we like to call it, the Winter Battle of the Masurian Lakes. They planned for us to attack eastward from the front line in western Poland. Once they notified Chief Erich Von Falkenhayn, he sent us an additional 4 army corps. Hindenburg sent Hunt, Kepner, Avery, and myself to go greet the newcomers and tell them about the plan. Once we got back to camp, the general’s told us to prepare for battle because we would start our attack the next day. Of course Kepner started freaking out because she hadn’t had the chance to go down to the…

I grew up watching Sci-Fi shows mostly, but I really did love the original Dark Shadows with the brooding Barnabas. After reading a lot of the posts this week in between decorating for a Veteran’s Day event at our school and mopping up the water from the broken water main in (or should I say under) the house, I came to the conclusion that Captain Kirk was a futuristic King Arthur and Mr. Spock would have been his Merlin. You had pageantry and magic along with the code of honor that the characters would follow.…

The outside smelled liked autumn. The wind was gentle. As my friend and I walked, the leaf crunched below our feet. When we reached the park it transformed. One playground became the ice castle. That had snow guard guarding all around the castle. The ponds sparkle from the sun that was surrounding the castle. As for the other playground lit up with fire, from stone to stone. I raced the fire queen to my castle.…

I enter through the creaky gate of the decaying garden; walking through the yard; her pulchritudinous roses, withered away with each step I took. Peregrinating to the door the wood rotting at the edges termites conversing, as if we were at a party, I refused to touch the repulsing door but in consideration for my mothers salubriousness. However the home didn't have the smell of death or decay, it smelt of warm cinnamon bread toasting in the oven. Warm Cinnamon bread the most delectable treat mama ever made for me; I couldn’t resist to take a…

On My Rocking Horse In my dreams I once again sat upon a rocking horse like in days gone by it rocked me through the skies and we went sailing by clouds and over treetops just my rocking horse and me it seemed as if the years had all melted away and I was the little laughing girl that used to love to run and play my rocking horse and me rocked on down the road we went through the forest where magical fairies and dwarfs ran about and babbling brooks shimmered in the rays of the sun that filtered through the tall pines and firs where there were mushroom houses and quiet, silent ponds with frogs singing upon lily pads my rocking horse and me enjoyed our outing when I awoke in the morning I wondered where my rocking horse had gone wondered why…
