Camps Paper Camps Paper The way Christians perceive Non-Christians is categorized into four different camps. A camp is a group of people that aggressively support a doctrine or creed and their point of views are strongly asserted and defended by those who adhere to them. The first Christian camp is called The Conservative Evangelical, is known as the Total Replacement Model. This camp is not open to other religions and believes their way is the only way. The second is the Mainline Protestant Model or also called The Partial Replacement Model. They believe that salvation can only happen through Christ. The Catholic Model is the third camp meaning there are many ways but only one normative way to get to God. Last but not least, the fourth camp is known as The Theocentric or Pluralist Model, being known for being the most accepting. After a lot of thought and consideration about all the camps, I would put myself in the fourth camp called “The Theocentric Model: Many Ways to the Center “because I believe that camp would fit me and my personality well. I am not a narrow-minded person, I like to think outside the box, and I do not judge people just because they happen to think differently than I do. I feel comfortable placing myself in the fourth camp because I believe that God listens to everyone and would not turn anyone away because they do not believe there is any one right way. I truly believe I am going to get to god in my own way, on my own path, and in my own time. I do not want to follow in anyone’s footsteps when it comes to getting to heaven. This is why I think the camp is considered to have many ways to the center would be the one for me, the one I would be proud to say I was a part of. The Theocentric Model is considered the acceptance model because it is aware of the importance of being different. It takes into consideration that religions share common ethical ideals, and no one religion is
