The first of these designs is “mixed-method design” this design unique in comparison to other designs as it concentrates more on the idea of how a researcher question is approached rather than the methodology that is employed. The mixed-method design is a process that attempts to understand the idea of the real world in context as it pertains to both multiple perspectives as well as cultural effects. The predominate focus of mixed-method design is the high degree of concentration of qualitative research as it draws parallels to quantitative constructs this in turns gives the mixed-method design a holistic approach utilizing multiple processes in both data collection as well as the attempting to combine the strengths of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. The draw back to mixed-method design is quantitative research and design is interested in ascertaining only one answer posed by a research question and the experimentation process that is required to obtain this answer, whereas qualitative is essentially the opposite of quantitative where the delineation is focus of gathering multiple answers. Another drawback to mixed-method design is …show more content…
However, if there are special or additional laws put into place that add to the legal or civil ramifications of sexual assault that are committed on a college campus then these aspects should be taken into account as well. Although, these laws or civil codes would have to be specifically intended for acts of sexual assault specifically on college campuses these laws or codes would vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction since there is no real state to state plurality or federal laws that are a unifying code or law to address such laws on college campuses although, all states do have a generalized code of laws that address sexual assault in general, no specialization of college campus sexual assault are universal in every state (speaking in reference to what I am familiar within my own state). If there was special or addendum laws on the books that take into consideration the place or location of a crime say for instance a fairly universal law within most states like the sale of drugs within the distance of a school then this would be an example of specialized laws that take into consideration the location of the act. This being the case then much like a campus then there would be a higher probability of these said campuses being held to liability both criminally and civilly speaking, from not providing a safe
