Can I Read And The Readers Theatre: Can People Change?
Can people change? This is a question many people ask. My opinion is yes, people can change, but how? The stories I read and the readers theater I read point to many different things. Let’s take a look at what. First, I did the reader’s theater. The readers theater was about a safe cracker who went to a bigger city to crack some more safes and get loads more money. When he was strolling down the street, he saw a beautiful girl and fell instantly in love. After seeing her, he wanted to change for good. Little did he know, there was a detective chasing him. He had gone years going by a different name and peddling shoes. He was just about to give away his safe cracking tools when his soon to be father in law showed him a new safe he got. While

Sarah changed drastically in “Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes”. She didn’t trust anyone and it took a great deal for her to learn to trust the minimal people that she did. After her father was no longer in the picture, her life was much smoother. She learned to trust Eric and the people that wanted to help her. I feel that she achieved more confidence and didn’t let her scars get to her anymore. Hope changed quite a bit in “Hope Was Here”. She learned to accept things for the way they were. She acknowledged that her mother was never going to change and her perfect father wasn’t going to show up at her door anytime soon. She found that her life was splendid the way it was. Mark Brittain from “Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes” also changed. It took a suicide attempt for it to happen though. Before he changed he was so uptight and harsh on himself. He believed that he had to be perfect in his eyes, but more importantly in the eyes of others. Once he changed he seemed to be a more enjoyable person. People are always changing for the better or worse, change is…

It is true that individuals should not change themselves for anyone. Like Leopard Man from the story "The Sociology of Leopard Man" by Logan Feys, he is not like ordinary people, he is a freak, according to the society. Because "he is tattooed from head to toe with leopard spots" (Feys 1) and "He doesn't live for other people's reactions. He lives in solitude" (1). He lives in the way he wants and does not care about what people thinks. Furthermore, the author states, "Leopard Man ... is happy" (1). This means that even though he lives independently away from other people, he is still happy because that is the life he…

There is a very thin line between the person who you were and the person that you are right now. As humans, we experience millions of events that can affect and change our perspective on aspects throughout the course of our lives. Similar to caterpillars, we cannot be innocent and childish forever. There is a time for everybody to transform into something beautiful, and everybody’s time is different. Change can be good or bad, but most importantly, change helps us grow and become the people we were meant to be. How are we supposed to mature and enjoy our lives if we cannot accept the differences that life presents? For many people, metamorphosing is difficult because sometimes it can be a challenge to let go of something that was always a part of ourselves, such as letting go of a teddy bear, or a blanket, but for other people, it can be almost instantaneous.…

In the newsletter, ‘Getting our future back on the rails- slowly’, that was received by households in the local area; the writer emphasizes the need for change and promotes the idea of sustainable living through community action. The direct, persistent tone serves to assert the notion that the community would greatly benefit by a shared garden. The proposal contains 3 images of which all support the writer’s philosophy. Commonly, all are directed to the reader through techniques of fear tactics and consistent use of hyperbole. The newsletter aims to persuade readers through tactics of: appealing to sense of security, use of evidence and involvement of readers through inclusive language.…

Albert Ellis states it may be pointless for a woman to try to change a man as it may only end up changed slightly. I would have to disagree with his statements as there are numerous examples of men changed by women. For example, a homeless man has lost everything including the love of his life, his wife. When asked in an interview, the man stated he was never romantic, and never as loving. However after losing her, he realized he was foolish and would do anything to have her in his life again including buying roses, cooking dinner, what ever it may be as long as his wife could still be here. A man’s story like this can even prosper and change another man’s views as he wouldn’t want to lose his wife, the single most important thing of his life. There are also many men who have witnessed first hand a failed relationship, whether there was no more spark, or where the man stopped trying. The woman leaves, and the men regret it. Thus, many ways a man can change by his loved one.…
