Can Movies Teach Us Something About Real Life?
People of today are lucky, because they can obtain different enjoyments visually and mentally through watching a diversity of movies. Yet, some people argue that, apart from movies that describe the real life, none of the others can give them inspirations or guidance in their life. They point out that only movies that can teach them something about real life are worth watching. I can’t accept this ridiculous conclusion.
People actually care about the variety of movies, because different movies provide different enjoyments. For example, horror movies give people excitement and thrill; fictional movies ignite people’s imagination by unfolding the possibilities of the future before their eyes; comedies make people laugh and take away their fatigue; and movies that teach people something about life offer lessons and help people avoid unnecessary but expensive mistakes. In a word, the variety is huge, the effects awesome, and the people satisfied (Kemp,1986). Nonetheless, not all movies close to real life are essential for us to watch, and at the same time, some movies not about real life really tell us a lot. In the first place, the real world is so complicated that exists both good and bad. So it is not fine for kids to see films reflect life about something ugly and evil in the society, such as fierce, bloody and pornographic ones.For example, the movie which named "The Pursuit of happiness", is one of the worth watching movies that encourage me to chase my dream and never, never stop. What has been said in the movies that "If you have a dream, protect it" makes me most impression.(shirleycsp,2014).
If people only watch movies that reflect the real life, people will feel bored. The plots of these movies are similar to the life scenarios of the audience. In the beginning,
