Britain should be proud of the empire they fought for and won because they concurred most of the countries that were in their empire and are still the leading empire to have the most countries in their power, (about one third of the world). The British Empire was a global empire ruled by Great Britain. At its peak in 1921, the Empire contained a quarter of the world's land area and more than a fourth of the world's population. The sun never set on the empire. Its voluntary end began in 1947.
We should be proud of our empire because we had lots of people that fought for our empire and took charge and helped quite a few countries.
For Canada-James McLeod- Gave lots of Canadians land, and gave those tools animals and teachers if they wanted to educate many.
For the West Indies- William Beckford- If the slaves worked hard, they would give a home and food for sure.
South Africa- Cecil Rhodes- They made a mining deal with the African chief.
India- Lord Dalhousie- He worked very hard to help the Indians, and took over and ruled where the princess ruled badly, and built lots of roads and railways. Also he set up schools and postal systems and helped suttee.
Fiji- Mary Calvert- She helped cruel customs like when the women’s husband died, they had to jump into their husband’s cremation and when a man stole, and his child’s fingers would be cut off. Also, lots of people turned into Christians and most fighting of the tribes stopped.
New Zealand- Edward Gibbon- He improved the country by trading with Britain, and made keen farming family’s to use lands properly.
Britain can be proud of their empire because they helped most countries and improved living conditions and helped many people.
On the other hand Great Britain were quite bad to people
For Canada- Chief Crowfoot- The number of whites on the island have grown and grown.
For the West Indies- Mary Prince- Black people who are from Africa still have the worse jobs.
South Africa- Chief Lobengula- African land was taken over by the British and digging for Gold without permission.
India- Rani Lakshmi- British took their land, and ignored old age customs, interfered with religions, beat the army that rose up against them and punished them by firing cannon balls at them.
Fiji- Chief Cakobau- the British grew sugarcane and cotton all over their land when they joined the British Empire.
New Zealand- Bessie Cameron- Taught to forget aborigine beliefs, and to be trained for the lowest jobs.
The British were a bit unfair but the British had to gain control whatever necessary to gain their land. But the British were brutal and horrible to countries especially India
Although the British did use slavery, they had to build an empire and to gain land while the romans killed over 5000 m people at war whilst the British killed about 3 million. So the British aren’t that bad.

The Chinese Empire did learn the tricks of the trade by learning how to make different things like pottery, and Qianlong did in fact do tremendous task to help the Empire while he is on the throne. However, that still did not give any indication that it was the most prodigious at that time. The British Empire, although it did indeed struggle in the 1700’s, it was still on top. Whether you agree with the Imperialism in India or not you can't ignore the fact that the British went to India with a demand for more raw materials to fuel the industrial revolution. Once they saw the potential in India they decided they wanted to get involved, Splitting it up into many sections so that there would be no conflict, however the people of India had no say in this and the more advanced development of the British left them ultimately defenseless against the British. This eventful time period could be viewed as Britain 's imperial century with their seemingly endless industrialization. Britain added about eight million square miles of territory and roughly four hundred million people to the British Empire. Along with the superior control it maintained over its own British colonies, Britain 's dominant position in the world 's trade meant that it mainly controlled the economies of many countries like China and Argentina. The British Empire was unchallenged at sea and it 's strength was built by the steamboat and the telegraph machine, which allowed it to control and defend the empire very effectively.…

Imperialism was beneficial to our humanity. Today, we see strong countries that were once imperialized topping our GDP rankings. Imperialism should not be permanent. After witnessing many countries in Latin America and Africa break away from their European colonizers, I believe that imperialism should secede when a strong national government can be established. Imperialism has awakened many foreign lands and it has benefited them doing to in so many ways. While parts of imperialism were unspeakable, it has built our human race and has benefitted…

An empire is an extensive group of states or countries under a single supreme authority. Most empires rise because of a strong personality or a ruler/king that conquers other land to make it his own. Usually a ruler has good ideas and a plan that will make his empire stronger and bigger. For example, discovering new technology, desire to become an empire, and good economy. While all empires fall because their ruler dies, the enemy finds better technology, fighting themselves, natural disasters, and invasions. The rise of two great empires, (the Roman and Chinese Empires) in the first century showed great military advancement, good economic trade, and large territories. They fell because of the decline in economic trade, changing of populations,…

Not only did Africans represent skilled laborers, but they were also experts in tropical agriculture. Consequently, they were well-suited for plantation agriculture. The high immunity of Africans to malaria and yellow fever compared with Europeans and the indigenous peoples made them more suitable for tropical labor. While white and red labor were used initially, Africans were the final solution to the acute labor problem in the New World. Slavery had been going on for hundreds of years in the Caribbean. The European powers dominated and exploited the region for its riches, resources, and its people and provided an oppressed servile class of Africans to use as a labor resource. The slaves would work on plantations against their will without any regard for their well-being or livelihood. Furthermore, as the industry began to develop, the Caribbean saw a major decline in slavery partnered with a rise in indentured servitude. This essay will argue that the abolition movement and black resistance of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and the influx of Asian migrants influenced economic development throughout the region and introduced a new race and social questions.…

Troops in the armed forces of these imperialistic nations justified their actions through Social Darwinism. Troops in the Royal Armed Forces of Britain invaded more land than any other empire that ever existed. The troops invaded so successfully because they had sound motivation. Their motivation was the glory of their country and their belief that by invading these countries, they were eliminating the world of weak races. The British believed that they were the highest race of people on earth and so they plundered different nations and cultures and were motivated by Social Darwinism. If these troops were not motivated by Social Darwinism, their consciences would object to their oppression of other nations. Obviously, not too many British troops had any troubled consciences about the oppression of foreign peoples. Therefore, the imperialistic nations' troops' motivation was the glory of their country and Social Darwinism.…
