Canbourne Cove Character Analysis

The sky was raining ever so slightly over Canbourne Cove High School. In Canbourne Cove, there was a student named Sam Salvatore. Sam was what every kid would call a nerd. He would complete all his learning tasks to a high standard. He was a typical kid, he had brown eyes, brown hair and wore glasses. He was one of those students who would do their top button up. If he didn’t have it done up he could not continue his day. However, Sam had a sad side. Other students would tease him because of his physical appearance. Especially ‘The Bower brothers.’ Bradley, Barry and Ben. They weren’t really brothers, that’s just what people called them. Sam was a little bit over weight compared to the other students.
People would tease him because he was slow in sports, didn’t wear certain brands of clothes and did his work. What the other students didn’t know was that Sam was highly intelligent and was studying to become a astronaut. Everyday during class ‘The Bower Brothers’ would throw spit balls and paper balls at the back of Sam’s neck. He felt the slimy saliva oozing down the side of his face. Sam would just ignore them. But it was hard when he was
constantly getting called names. Ben Bowers, one of the members of ‘The Bower Brothers’ always shown a look of concern for Sam. But he would never do anything as he was afraid of Bradley and Barry. Ben once was a bullied himself, which is why he had sympathy for Sam. It was like having sympathy for a puppy that is getting put down.
One day during lunch break while Sam was reading his NASA study book.
‘The Bower Brothers’ thought it was a good idea to kick dirt in his face. Yet Ben was just tagging along. At this point in time Ben had the realization that this wasn’t right. Just looking at Bradley and Barry made his blood boil. Ben told them in a voice a little quieter than a yell, ‘it isn’t fair what you’re doing’. Their faces turned as red as a cherry. They were so embarrassed because one of the boys had turned against them. You could see the beads of sweat forming on their faces. Ben asked them 'How would you feel if i was picking on you' Their eyes started welling up with tears. 'Just because you are popular does not mean you are any better than anyone else.' Ben firmly stated. Bradley and Barry had no clue that Ben felt so passionate about
this.
The next day ‘The Bower Brothers’ immediately all apologized to Sam for bullying him, as well as making him feel like an ant compared to them. Sam did not know whether to accept their apology. Until he realized that he should give them a chance to do the right thing. Sam accepted their apology and thanked Ben for standing up for Sam. All four of them became close friends for a very long time. In the end Sam accomplished his dreams of becoming an astronaut. He got a personal letter from NASA asking if he wanted to train to become a NASA instructor. Ben became a chef at Damascus Gate Restaurant in Damascus. Bradley and Barry both created a youth center in order to stop any type of bullying from occurring. Sam learnt that not all bullies are bad people, they just need a little encouraging to do the right thing. And that was the story of Sam Salvatore. The End.
