Lung Cancer
Complications of treatment- Treatment prolongs life but doesn’t cure it, illnesses from the treatment and from the actual cancer are hard to separate. Treatment is very dangerous for the patient. It could destroy more cells than necessary.
Limitations of treatment- Chemotherapy, radiotherapy.
Pancreatic Cancer
Complications of treatment- Pancreatic cancer can be cured at an early stage but not at an advanced stage, which most people have once diagnosed. Treatment will improve the quality of life.
Limitations of treatment- Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. Surgery usually happens before the chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
Eye Cancer
Complications of treatment- It is not always necessary to treat the cancer immediately. Treatment is recommended when the tumor starts to grow or if it may spread to other parts of the body. Due to location of the cancer, you may or may not lose your sight.
Limitations of treatment- Chemotherapy, Cryotherapy, External Beam Radiation Therapy, Laser Therapy, Radiation Plaque Therapy, or Enucleation.
Cervical Cancer
Complications of treatment- Cervical Cancer can be treated if at an early stage. One may have to take one type of therapy or a combination of several types of therapy. Cervical Cancer affects a woman’s chance of having children again.
Limitations of treatment- Surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy. Most treatments cause side effects such as loss of appetite, nausea, hair loss, fatigue, skin irritation, change in bowel or urinary habits, and loss of ability to bear children.
