Cannabis Persuasive Speech
I’ve grown up in a time where cannabis has been greatly talked about in positive ways. Some of my friends have used it before and they've told me that it was very beneficial to their mental and physical health. Many people benefit from using this drug and some just enjoy doing it. I feel that people lose some of their personal freedom when they’re not allowed to use cannabis. Im sure that you, a government official, would be concerned about the people's view on marijuana.

Hey Carolyn, I know that I told you in your introduction, but I get so happy when anyone gets close to their finish line. It gives me hope, so congratulations on this being your last class before your capstone. I have one more class before my capstone and the fact that the capstone class is 16 weeks scares me. I do like your topic concerning the legalization of marijuana. Now some states have it legalize for medical and personal use. This is a hot topic and it was on the ballots this pass election for some people. I really don’t have a personal option when it comes down to marijuana being legalized or not. However, I do agree with the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) where it concerns focuses on removing it from the criminal justice system and having…

If you could prevent a person from suffering in all forms would you? Medical Marijuana could help patients suffering from various illness, such as Cancer and epilepsy being some of the harshest diseases. If a child suffering from constant hourly seizures was to be treated with medical marijuana they could possibly stop the seizures all together but at the very least would reduce them significantly, to only two or three times per month. Due to the new medical advances cannabis sativa has been proven a medical miracle for epilepsy patients across the world.…

There are lots of reasons why some people believe that the government shouldn’t legalize Marijuana. Marijuana contains chemicals that are viewed as harmful. Some may argue that it’s hard to function while under the influence of marijuana. Marijuana is capable of causing short term memory loss, anxiety, and circulation effects which may increase risks of heart attacks and strokes. The use of marijuana can also cause a person to be in a state of paranoia. For example, a relative simply knocking on the door can be mistaken for the police knocking. Marijuana has an effect on the mind.…

Plenty of people rule out marijuana as a derogatory thing that has no positives, I am here to tell you this is untrue and marijuana has plenty of health benefits, for example, marijuana slows the progression of alzheimer’s, slows the spread of cancer, and treat inflammatory bowel diseases such as crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. This shows that marijuana has a reason to be used, not just for the enjoyment. Keep in mind that there are many more than three positive benefits of marijuana.…

Marijuana is a hallucinogen; its active property is THC. Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug in the U.S., and is often the first illegal drug used by teenagers. Some states have legalized marijuana for medical purposes only. From a rational point of view, individuals deserve the right to make choices for themselves. The government only has a right to limit those choices if the individual's actions endanger someone else. This does not apply to marijuana, since the individual who chooses to use marijuana does so according to his or her own free will. The government also may have a right to limit individual actions if the actions show a significant threat to the individual. This argument does not logically apply to marijuana because marijuana is far less dangerous than some drugs which are legal, such as alcohol and tobacco.…

    Marijuana Speech

The topic I will be discussing today is cannabis, marijuana, weed, pot, or ganja, whatever you prefer to call it. I did this topic because I believe that the majority of people do not know much about cannabis, and I want them to be properly informed so that they are not drawn in by false information. In this speech you will hear me use the terms hemp and marijuana. Hemp and marijuana are both products of the plant cannabis, but the important difference in the two is the amount of THC in the plant. THC is the chemical in cannabis which causes the “high” that people get from smoking or eating it. In order to get high from smoking cannabis it must contain at least 3% THC. Hemp only contains .01% to .03% amounts of THC, meaning it would not be possible to get high off of it no matter how much is smoked. Marijuana THC levels range from 3%-15%, which means it is able to produce a high by smoking and ingesting it. The uses of cannabis vary whether it is being grown for marijuana or hemp.…

Marijuana has a negative shame involved by the government and public, but is actually a natural and successful medicine. Recently marijuana arrests have been exceeding the amount of violent crime arrests and punishments. The Marijuana Policy Project counted 872,720 pot-related arrests in the United States in 2007 alone, according to Cato. Enforcing this prohibition has put taxpayers in almost 10 billion dollars of debt annually. I believe that there are definitely more important issues that the government should be focusing on rather than throwing harmless marijuana smokers in jail.…

Good morning honourable chairperson, judges, audience members, and of course, our most worthy opponents. I am side proposition’s second speaker, here to enforce our belief in the legalization of marijuana in Canada. Again, we whole heartedly support this resolution. In my speech today, I will elaborate upon side proposition’s contentions, which prove why this resolution must stand. I will also discuss the affirmative plan. However, before I do this, it is necessary that I point out and clash with the blatant flaws in the negative case.…

For many years, the United States government has prohibited marijuana from being sold. Marijuana’s illegality has made marijuana notorious for its bad aspects to the public and continues to be a very controversial topic. This subject has been debated numerous times over the past few year and the issues surrounding it are both varied and complex. Many people in the world have their own personal views and beliefs on this topic. There are people believe that the legalization of marijuana is only acceptable for medical purposes. Supporters argue that it will greatly benefit our economy and that it is no more harmful than cigarettes or alcohol. The anti-marijuana view suggests that there are more negative effects that will come from the legalization than keeping it banned. Others feel that…

Since the 1930’s, marijuana has been illegal in the eyes of the U.S government. It is classified as a schedule I drug, which is said to have a high potential for abuse, no medical use and not safe to use under medical supervision. In this current day and age, it’s being prescribed to patients who have severe health problems to treat their pains, nausea, etc. Compared to logical reasoning, the government takes a very different stance on marijuana. Some say prohibition serves no purpose, and others say it is a violation of our liberty to ban something harmless to others. As you can see, misconceptions on marijuana and plentiful and reformation is necessary.…
