Capstone Memory Game
Chapter I
Introduction

Background of the Project

Today’s society is the age of computers, laptops, cell phones and gadgets, With today’s youth being more in demand and in style for the latest update in technology. It is safe to say that technology is in their hands. Literally with new gadgets popping out almost every month, the android industry is getting bigger, more in demand, thus the demand for new application also increases.

The project team decided to create an android based game entitled ICON SPLASH, to entertain, educate and provide enjoyment to android users. Our game is based on the old card game Pairs - II from the NOKIA 3315 where the user will uncover pictures to find pairs, but use as few tries as possible. In time trial mode, you must find all the pairs before the bomb explodes. To advance to the next level, you must match all the pairs before the dynamite fuse runs out. Use option level to choose the difficulty of the game. This is one of the games that we have used as our basis in creating this game.

The game consists of icons which will be shown on a given time depending on the stage. For a few seconds the icon will appear then fade and another set of icons will be displayed, select the first icons that you saw among the second batch of icons. This will go on to the next stage or until the timer stops which declares the end of the game. The game allows 2 players in which the players will take turns. Every stage has a random set of game (each has a random of five games that the application itself will select) this is done in order for the game not to be cheated, by repeating the stages.

The SNAP Mobile SDK 2.2 provides developers with a number of innovative tools to make it significantly easier to create connected mobile games. New features include a game template, skinnable user interface framework, support for J2SE and Bot API. The new game template provides a complete implementation for all required community functionality such as friends list and chat, with an interface that allows developers to either plug in existing game code, or to use it as a basis for entirely new connected games. This template enables developers to concentrate on creating their game, not on the platform requirements, since most SNAP Mobile requirements are already in the game template. With the user interface framework, developers can quickly manipulate a game 's look and feel to change XML. The UI framework includes a clean separation of controller logic which makes it easy to use with developers ' existing UI frameworks. The SNAP Mobile SDK 2.2 also adds support for J2SE, enabling developers to design games with cross platform support. This means that SNAP Mobile games can also be created as desktop applications or applets to run on PCs and web pages with the possibility to play against the same game 's mobile version. For example, the N-Gage title Reset Generation uses the SNAP Mobile support for J2SE to…

The human memory is a very complex phenomenon. The memory is considered to be a cognitive neuroscience. It is made up of four parts: sensory, short term, working, and long term. Many factors impede or enhance the information flow throughout each step of the process. I will also explain proactive and retroactive interference in this essay. Finally, I will give you some strategies for improving your memory. The memory process begins when the stimuli receives a sensation. The sensation may come from any of the senses such as sight, smell, sound, or texture. This step is known as the sensory memory. Your body is constantly sending many stimuli at one time. Due to this the information is only stored in the sensory memory for .5 to 1 second. Stimuli are filtered in this stage and are discarded. If it is selected for further processing it is passed on while the others are lost and replaced. The sensory memory can either retain few large items or many small items.…
