Introduction This paper will describe my plan to expand Publix grocery store into a one stop shop, will continuing with the mission and vision the company already has in place. It will also describe the context and organization, as well as articulate the vision and mission as well as the strategy of the organization. This paper will also describe the source of competitive advantages and the nature of the business opportunities. George Jenkins,(1907-1996) is the founder of Publix grocery store, and the story behind this great venture was brought on by how he was treated by his employer at the time. In 1930 a young man named George W. Jenkins was managing a Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Winter Haven, Fla. hard times had brought a drop in the store 's sales volume and a cut in pay, but his determination to succeed remained. When he learned that the owner had sold his store to an Atlanta businessman, George looked forward to a visit from the new owner, feeling confident he would be impressed by how his store was being managed. Weeks passed, the man didn 't come, so George decided to drive to Atlanta to meet his new boss. Eager and self-assured, he arrived at the owner 's office and identified himself. “The owner sent word out that he was tied up in an important business conference. "Well," as Mr. Jenkins often recalled, "I could hear what the conference was all about. He was saying that if he hadn 't taken a six on the dogleg eighth hole, he 'd have broken 90 in his last golf game." This indifferent treatment sent George home determined to start his own grocery store — and vowing never to treat his employees or customers the way the absentee owner had treated him. He opened the very first Publix on September 6, 1930, which started his legacy. In 1935 he opened his second store; however he closed both stores to open his dream store. The disappointment he felt at that time,

Their internal weakness is only expanding their market in a selected number of states versus in a cover number of states. Being they are the 10th largest food retailers in the U.S. there growing information technology is not up to speed. The quality of their product price range is not affordable to everyone; sometimes their products are out of stock or recall. Their market share in 2015 is 6.0% and was based out of Florida. Their net earnings for the first quarter of 2016 were $581.9 million and increase to $0.75 for 2016. As of May 1, 2016 Publix stock decreased $1.25 per share. My recommendation to increase their market share is by creating better innovation ideas such as actively engaging or gaining insight of the needs of their associates…

In 2006, CanGo began as a very small online retailer of books. The company’s founder and CEO, Liz Bennet, saw the internet as a great opportunity, and in her small apartment, she seized the moment. Ms. Bennet soon hired Warren Fox to assist in growing the company, and it was not long until the company began to expand. CanGo tapped into new markets, and now offers a wide selection of CDs, DVDs, and MP3s, as well as books.…

One of my main concerns about TGI Friday’s is the wait time to be seated, and waiter and waitress service. The way I would address these concerns is by hiring more employees to assist with the task of providing better customer service as far as the seating and ordering process is concerned. My concerns in the food service industry for TGI Friday’s would be management, management is the organization and coordination of the activities of a business in order to achieve a positive objective. Good management skills can definitely impact productivity, performance, and employee morale. Ways that I would address management concerns for TGI Friday’s is to learn how to effectively delegate the responsibility for completing assignments, and the authority required to get the job done. Also, being part of a management team I would also set goals for my employees that will give direction and purpose that will ensure that they are working towards overall organizational goals of the company. As management I would communicate by making time for all employees, and recognize any and all achievement of my employees, so that the proper rewards can be handed out when a job is done well. A good management team will be able to implement safety measures that will protect all employees, staff, and customers. They will also be able to implement a menu for the business that will be appealing and appetizing to customer, along with good beverage management skills. While making good purchasing decisions they will also oversee management of receiving, storing, and issuing of merchandise, by following the proper procedures. Also management will always provide good customer service for the facility in question, and deal with any environmental issues that may come up. So, this is how I would deal with all the concerns in the business, to achieve the proper outcome.…

In the United States wild fires are very common during the dry season also known as summer. Although they are occurring all over the united states I would like to bring your attention to the following states, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and also Idaho. In the past few fire seasons these states have had an increase in the number of fires that have been started due to natural storms and human related accidents. They are becoming more frequent due to the current conditions of the forests and lack of up keep on the vegetation. Along with the growing frequency of these fires the intensity level of the fires are also increasing as a result of the over populated forest. With the ever increasing fire intensity the forest firefighters are in more danger now than ever. To what extent should people begin to be concerned about the growing forest fire problem? People should become concerned when the problem is continuing to escalate and becoming a growing problem. This growing problems is beginning to effect myself first hand due to where I live also with my family members who are in the wildfire fighting field. My oldest brother Chris works for Boise Dispatch, My brother Hoby is on an engine crew in McCall Idaho, My youngest brother works for Pat- Rick fire crew out of Boise Idaho, and lastly my father Dale works for Thunder Mountain Catering. They cater to the firefighters stationed on the larger fires so that they don't have to eat MRE's (Dehydrated meals ready to eat). Also during the fire season the air is thick with a gray haze covering the Treasure valley. This often happens when there are numerous fires burning around the area. Due to the current conditions of the forests these fires are becoming more frequent and also more intense.…

Completing this research paper on two careers, a forensic practitioner and baker has changed my plans dramatically. After researching the career as a baker I now know that that is not a job that I would want to pursue. As a baker I don’t feel like I am making much of a difference, baking a cake or bread will not save someone’s life. I want to make a difference in life and help people. Becoming a forensic practitioner I can do that. I found more excitement in researching that career. When I think about choosing a career, I feel it must be something that I could see myself doing and enjoying for the rest of my life. Working in a lab and seeing crime scenes amazes me! I learned a lot of things about both careers. A baker takes his/her time to create products to perfection. They work long hours and have great career advantages. A forensic practitioner works mainly in a lab, sometimes alongside police officers. All of the expectations that I had for this project were fully met. I was pleased to have the opportunity to research both careers, now I know what career fits me and which one doesn’t.…

My Name is Brittany Larkin and for my senior project I have chosen to do How Music Impacts Drugs on My Community. My motivation for this project is that today’s society has changed over the years, and more and more I see not only some of my fellow classmates, and my friends, but my family members’ usage of drugs impact over the years. One day I’m walking home from school and a group of young boys about my little brothers age so I say about 11-12 years old smoking and rapping “ I said wait hold up please let me roll up” and thinking to myself did that music make them want to smoke drugs or was it the drugs that decided the type of music they listened to. More and more new songs about drugs have come out come out for example the molly dance, and I myself have noticed ever since the song has been released more and more people find it fascinating to want to do a “Molly” because it seemed cool and the rappers. People they look up to have tried it or claimed they tried it. I think it’s not just rap music though that impacts drugs; I think every genre has a different impact on drugs. That’s another reason why I chose this particular project to see if it’s just rap music, and if indeed it is I want to know what are the different solutions we can take to change this. Maybe less drugs and more successful things in music like staying in…
