Jessica is the daughter of a retired Army officer. She grew up with a unique perspective and developed a love of people and culture at an early age. She started babysitting at 12 years old, from which, her passion for children grew.
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from The University of Vermont in 2007. Following graduation, she commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps through the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
Over the past nine years, Jessica had the honor to serve in several challenging leadership and operational positions within the Military Police Corps to include: platoon leader, company executive officer and company commander. She served one combat tour in Afghanistan, overseeing detention operations for the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division. …show more content…
She enjoyed the position so much, she applied to branch transfer at her earliest opportunity. Jessica was accepted to the Army’s public affairs functional area in May 2015 and attended the Defense Information School Public Affairs Qualification Course from August through October of 2015.
Motivated and inspired to build on her new foundation of professional knowledge, Jessica applied to and was accepted to The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management. Pursuing a master’s in Strategic Public Relations, she is currently enrolled in the Advanced Writing for Communications Professionals course.
