Captain America:The First Avenger This classic hero was done good in this modern rendition of a very old storyline. Steve Rogers, a sickly young man turned super soldier, who wanted nothing more than to fight alongside his fellow Americans, and childhood best friend, captured the hearts of action and comic book lovers.In a perfect combonation of writing and direction, the movie ensures that the viewer falls in love with Steve Rogers before they made him into a true hero. The movie tackles the tricky subject of stereotypes assigned to women, and how much they can be damaging to a woman’s pride, career and life. People love the movie for Reese Witherspoon’s portrayal of a young woman trying to impress a man, by getting into and succeeding at Harvard Law. The main character struggles the entire movie with the assumptions people make of her, writing her off as some blonde joke, yet she works to overcome these stereotypes and find out what really makes her happy. While it differentiates from the original story, the movie has a very clear cut plot arch, and the biggest change they made to the original gave the movie an odd realistic quality. The change I’m referring to is the addition to the villain, Gaston. The misogynistic, narcissistic antagonist was a wonderful choice for the story as he is a character you might meet in real life. Another plus is the beautiful animation of the scenery. While they, unfortunately, didn't bother to make the costuming realistic to the time period, the Beast’s castle is beautifully drawn and very true to the way it may have looked in the
