“CRIMSON TIDE”
After the World War II, the Russian rebels got a hold of their nuclear bases and posed as a worldwide threat. The U.S nuclear submarine base which was given orders to launch the nuclear missiles to try stopping potential nuclear war had two possible leaders, Captain Ramsey and his Executive Officer, Lieutenant Commander Hunter who had different approaches on leadership skills. Immediately tension grew between them due to conflict of interest on how the ultimate objective of how their mission was to be followed through.

The kind of leader who makes people feel that they are in charge using coercive power meaning you do what you’re told to do without question or else you get punished, leading from the top down. They lack confidence in their team; they are not inspirational and have a demeaning sense of humour. Whereas the theory Y protagonist (Executive Officer, Lieutenant Commander Hunter) has a positive attitude, a peacemaker, has discipline, master people skills and ahead of the game thus he had created a pleasant environment for the submarine crew he worked with. His leadership skills were rather seen through his behaviour, when he preached hope, had compassion and lead the team in doing their best in what they know.
