In regards to “Capture Errors from Slips associated with the automatic processes by Reason, 1990”, I have experienced this from time to time in my life. I am a new mother to a 3-month old son name Greyson and one of my daily routines is to drop Greyson off at daycare, attend classes and then pick up Greyson from daycare to head back home. When driving, I have gotten to know the route quite well that it is quite possibly I could go on automatic when in reality I shouldn’t. One day, I really needed to go to the bank to deposit a check into my account. While I was attending my classes and then checking up on Greyson on my break in-between class I reminded myself over and over that I needed to go to the bank, however; once my last class ended, I took the same route I normally do to pick my son up from daycare and then headed straight home. Once I was finally home, I realized that “going to the bank plan” totally slipped my mind. “Perseveration”

One of the many routines I have on a daily basis is doing the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher. I try to do the dishes while my son is asleep, however; at times my son would wake up crying for his needs to be met. One day, I was doing the dishes while Greyson was asleep and he woke up from his nap crying. Since I was just about done with the dishes when he started crying, I immediately put the last dish in the dishwasher and turned it on. Once the dishwasher was done, I was going to put the clean dishes up but I looked at they were all still dirty and at that very moment I realized that I forgot to put dishwashing soap in so they would get cleaned. Needless to say, I had to re-run the dishwasher with dishwashing soap so I could have clean
