Car Accident
Car Accident

Horror, disbelief and fear filled my mind as I lay on my side, sandwiched between the cold, hard tar and the mangled k metal of the car. The weight of the car pressed down on the lower half of my body with monster force. It did not hurt, my body was numb. My lungs felt pinched shut and air would neither enter nor escape them. My mind was buzzing. What had just happened? In the distance, on that cursed road, I saw cars driving by completely unaware of what happened, how I felt. I tried to yell but my voice was unheard. All I could do was wait. Wait for someone to help me or wait to die.

The third maddening buzz of my alarm woke me as I groggily slid out of bed to the shower. It was the start of another routine day, or so I thought. We hopped into my new white bugatti and made our way to school.

With music blasting, voices singing and talking, it was another typical ride to school with my brother. Because of our belated departure, I went fast, too fast. We started down the first road to our destination. This road is about three km long and filled with little hills. As we broke the top of one of the small, blind hills in the middle of the right lane was a dead deer. Without any thought, purely by instinct I pulled the wheel of the car to the left and back over to the right. No big deal but I was going fast. The car swerved back to the left, to the right, to the left.. My body jolted with the sporadic movements of the car. The car swerved to the right for the last time. With my eyes sealed tight, I could feel my body float off the seat of the car.

I opened my eyes to see the black road in the distance above me. I could feel the cold ground on the side of my body. I couldn't move and couldn't understand why. It had happened so quickly. I lay there until my mind comprehended what had happened. I was wedged between the hood of the car and the dirt. The car rustled, every movement of the car pierced my body. It was my brother. He was okay. I

I tried to open my eyes but all I could see was darkness. All around me darkness sits, still and quiet. I heard a creak, then a minuscule and weak voice talked, “Sydney, are you alright?” “Mmm” was all I could get out of my weak and tired body. Then the voice talked to me again, “Sydney, this is Dad speaking. The doctor just told me that the impact of you hitting the seat in front of you was very hard, it blinded you for life.” Darkness grabbed me, never letting me be perky and happy again…

Cruthis recalls that as she was driving, “I felt the car skid a little bit, and then I lost control and I couldn’t turn the wheel.” She remembers that when the car started to swerve, “I tucked my feet under the seat because my dad told me never to hit the brakes in this situation. I tensed my arms up so I didn’t touch the wheel and cause any more damage than was about to happen.” The car began to spin in the opposite direction. “I spun about three times before it drove straight into a ravine. It (the car) flipped over once, and then all I remember was the car being at the bottom of the ravine, blood being everywhere, and my head out the window,” states Cruthis.…

I was tired and my face was numb; I forgot my face mask at my uncle’s house. I wasn’t in any rush to get home but the wood stove and my comfortable bed was a pleasing thought. The headlight on my snowmobile was only shining about ten feet in the distance when a giant moose stepped out in front of me. I immediately pulled my breaks, but it was too late to avoid contact. I was looking up at the towering moose; ready to fly forward all I could think about is how to survive this situation. My body became calm and everything went quiet. Then all of a sudden the big hooves came crashing down just…

The play “A Raisin in the Sun” reflects on Youngers, an African-American Family, who lived on the southern side of Chicago in the late 1950s. The play opens with the family receiving a $10,000 insurance check from Mr. Younger’s (the deceased) life insurance policy. Each member of the family is ready with an idea of what to use the money on (Hansberry, 11). For example, Mama has a dream of buying a house. On the other hand, Walter Lee who is Mama’s Son wants to invest in a Liquor store with his neighborhood friends. To him, investment is the only solution to saving the family from financial challenges (Hansberry, 12). Variously, Beneatha who is Lee’s Sister wishes to use the funds as…

I was so tired, even attempting to keep my eyes open was a struggle. My whole body was achy after a hard day’s of school work, constantly staring at a computer screen and typing away, just to finish an essay. My pale white hands, frozen by the air conditioning blasting on high, were holding on to the steering wheel like a person gripping the edge of a cliff, hoping not to fall into a dark abyss. My brain wanted to give in, to remain in the sleep that I kept dangerously drifting in and out of. I took a look outside, the road looking meek. The rows if brush hoars any objects spattered off the road by vehicles in the August sun. It felt like I was going around in a circle, my tires skating around the bends and turns of the road. I felt maybe I should slow down so I do not lose…

The car was half way over the tracks when the train hit the rear of the car. Sabrina threw her arms around her niece protectively, and held her tight. The car spun and crashed into a tree. Alisha's world turned black. When she did gain some consciousness someone was holding her hand, she was in so much pain. "Why?" she wondered, and then the horrible accident was replayed in her mind, the sound of brakes, the screams, the smell of blood, but the worse thing was the tomblike silence that drowned out all other noise. A silence that is so thick, and black, like she was stuck in a room and couldn't get out. She panicked; no it couldn't end like this. She then stopped fighting the deafening silence and let it carry her far away. She woke, bright lights blinded her, she wasn't in heaven and she wasn't dead. Mrs., Wilson woke up surprised, and looked at Alisha "Baby your awake" her mom stoked her Alisha's hair, "nurse, she's awake. " "Mom aunt Rina" Alisha croaked. "She’s fine honey, shh..It’s ok." I saw that it has started to snow, I was laying there on my back thinking I’m going to die. I closed my eyes, for the longest moment, nothing happened. It felt like my body didn't give up yet, and there is something I still needed to accomplish. I stood up and dragged myself, trying to look for a taxi or any transportation to get out of here. I examined two red led circles which led me to a car plate.…

The cracked shards crunched beneath my feet, the blood dripped from my hair onto my awestruck face. This is all seemed so real, so completely real. I walked around the cars, examining the wreckage, my sight vibrating from the pure adrenaline rush. Here it was, Every 15 Minutes, and I was the drunk driver. Beer cans scattered around the pavement; every step I took felt like an eternity, a lurch through some kind of dark matter. I kept thinking “this didn’t actually happen, this didn’t actually happen,” but, the experience was all too real. I had killed someone. Metaphorically, of course, she’s fine. I took a seat in my car, and mixed the soon-to-be puke, a concoction of granola bar and water in my mouth.…

My adolescent legs strain as I continue along the path aimlessly, my stomach rumbles in emptiness as I realise I left without food. How can one think of such things at a time like that? I most certainly didn't, and now the only thing dwelling in my gut was the sore pain that was the increasing hate for the cruel beings that raised me. Lost in my thoughts my melancholy walking pattern is disrupted as my foot catches on a thick branch and I fall swiftly face first into a small jagged rock. Dazed, I lift myself up from the ground and dust myself off; my left eyelid closes automatically as blood rolls down the top of my face. Cursing, I wipe my face with my sleeve, soaking the cotton a blackish-red instantly. The shock dissipates and pain sets in, sharp agony mixed with a strange tingling sensation on my forehead. I forcedly push the pain to the back of my mind, and go to take my next step just as a small blue spherical object reflecting the moon catches my eye on the edge of the track. Interested, I walk over to it, and pick it up in my hands. After examining the dirt caked ball, images of my younger brother flash through my mind. Times spent together, kicking a ball in the backyard, taking him to his first movie, and then screams of pain, blood, oh god the blood is.... The ball drops to the ground as my hand trembles from the horrible images. I kick it far away off the trail in anger as Im reminded of the situation Im in. The smoky scent of a…

Thinking nothing about it we proceeded with the conversations and laughter. But in a few short moments the laughter suddenly stopped and turned directly into frantic shouts. The guard rail crunched as we barreled straight through it and over the edge of the bridge. So many thoughts raced through my mind in that short time of the fall, but I remember what I saw when I opened my eyes…black. I felt dizzy and helpless, until I noticed that I was the lucky one. I quickly ran to the crushed car to check on my friends, who had not been thrown from the vehicle. As I got to the car, the doors were crushed shut and my only option was to break the window in a last attempt effort to save my friends. As I got one friend out I carried him up the side to the highway. As I got to the top, a vehicle slowed to a stop as he saw were in trouble and covered with blood. I handed my friend off to the good Samaritan and franticly got back down to the car. As the sirens and lights filled the night sky I pulled my other friend out of what was left of the car. As I got him on the ground, I was met by the rescue team sent to help us. They helped me up the side of the bridge and to the ambulance. As the paramedics pulled the body bags over my friends faces, the…

We were stuck at the top of the roller coaster with a couple of carts going over the edge, terrifying. Plus, the 0 miles per hour to the what felt like 2,000 mile per hour takeoff with no warning almost made me wet myself! As, we were going around the first turn my ribs were rattling like drums. My heart was pounding through my chest like a wrecking ball. Going up the first hill I slammed my eyes shut hard. Up and down the hill with ease I opened my eyes not scared, not afraid. When we finally got off the ride, my brother Drake started chanting “We’re not dead, we’re not dead!” My mom startled him by replying “Shut up, we weren’t gonna die!” “Yay, we almost did.” As I saw the next carts soar up I wished they would get stuck but, they didn’t. As, the day went on I did ride other roller coasters. There was one ride I did skip, The Superman, I didn’t want to get stuck on that one.…
