Soldier's heart is a PSD. It is a post-traumatic stress disorder meaning that you have problems where you are remembering thing and you are going through stress. I do believe that charlie had soldier's heart because he ends up dying from stress and his wounds on page (104). Also on page (104) it says he was only 23 years old and he thought that he was too old to marry. Most people of that time did not die at 23. This is showing that soldier's heart really affected people, he purposely made sure that he did not make friends because he knew that they could be dead the next day. The reason that he got S.H is because he had seen nelson get shot and then kill himself on page (57) it put him threw the stress of having a dead friend that is when…
Right sided heart failure happens when the right side of the heart is unable to pump an adequate amount of blood to the lungs and out of the right side of the heart. This either happens because the hearts muscles are unable to fully contract or they are inflamed not allowing an adequate amount of blood to enter them. This leads to a backup in venous blood. The venous blood puts pressure on the walls of the blood vessels (especially in the legs). This causes blood plasma to leak into the interstitial spaces. This causes one of the major signs of right sided heart failure which is pitting edema of the legs. But, the fluid back up does not only cause edema. The failure of the right side of the heart to load sends a smaller amount of blood to the…

Right-sided heart failure is a consequence of left ventricular failure. When the fluid pressure increases in the left ventricle, but is too weak to pump the fluid out into the aorta, the fluid regurgitates into the left atrium and subsequently backs up into the lungs. In the same manner, the right ventricle pump deoxygenated blood to the pulmonic vein but is met with great resistance due to congested lungs, thereby pushing the fluid back into the right atrium, and into the vena cava. This backing up of blood causes swelling of the abdomen, legs and ankle.…
Interventions will incorporate close monitoring of vital signs during activity, as increased heart rate can decrease myocardial perfusion and lead to recurrence of arrhythmias. Administration of antihypertensive and diuretic medications will also be completed, as these medications promote myocardial perfusion and decrease preload (Gulanick & Myers,…
Congestive heart Failure occurs when your heart muscle doesn't pump blood as well as it should. Some conditions such as narowed arteries in your heart artery or high blood pressure, gradually leave your heart to weak or stiff to fill up and pump efficiently.…
Congestive heart failure, also called CHF, is a serious disease when the heart muscles have been damaged or has to work hard due to other diseases. Common complications of a heart attack and other types of heart disease that damage the heart can result in CHF. Congestive heart disease can affect both right and left sides of the heart, but can affect one more than the other.…

Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome is an X-linked recessive immunodeficiency disorder usually inherited by males from their mother. This syndrome involves both T- and B-lymphocytes characterized in one third of patients by the triad of recurrent bacterial sinopulmonary infections, eczema (atopiclike dermatitis), and a bleeding diathesis caused by thrombocytopenia and platelet dysfunction. The characteristic triad of bleeding, eczema, and recurrent infections in Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome generally become evident during the first year of life, with petechiae and ecchymoses of the skin and oral mucosa and bloody diarrhea being the first clinical signs. Bone marrow transplant improves prognosis of Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. Investigators reported that before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cutaneous manifestations occurred frequently, with the most common lesion being eczema similar to atopic dermatitis (71%), followed by petechiae and/or ecchymosis (58%) and cutaneous infections (17%). The classic triad of symptoms was seen in 46% of the boys, who were later treated with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.…

After the prep has been done, they will run the patient to the emergency room to start the surgery. The nurses will hook the patient to a heart-lung machine to help the doctor operate without your heart beating. The heart-lung machine replaces the role of the heart and pumps blood, that is rich with oxygen, into the Aorta so that the blood is easily distributed throughout the body. The heart will be stopped and kept cool if the heart-lung machine is used. If the heart-lung machine isn’t used in the bypass surgery, then the surgeon will keep the heart pumping. This surgery is called off-pump bypass…
