Cardiovascular Disease Information
Cardiovascular disease refers to conditions that narrow or block blood vessels. These conditions can lead to a heart attack or stroke. According to Richard P. Lewis M.D. (Can Cardiovascular Disease be prevented), “Cardiovascular disease is the common chronic illness in our society.” Coronary artery disease is a disease that supplies the muscle with blood. The blood flow can become obstructed. The most common cause is a condition called ather osclerosis, a largely preventable cardiovascular disease. CAD can lead to chest pain and heart attack.
Cardiovascular disease is a sub term for a number of diseases that can affect the heart and blood vessel system. If people have diabetes mellitus, hypertension and hyper cholesterolemia they are more settable to this kind of disease.
Congestive heart failure is where the muscles or valves in your heart become weak or fail. This means it will not function correctly. The kidney notice that it is not getting enough blood through the body which in turns leads the body to believe you are getting more fluid then necessary.
A patient will come back into your office and tell you I have water in my lungs”. Basically your body can only hold so much blood to where it is seeping out. The blood then has no where to go and enters our lungs, liver and legs. The common symptoms are shortness of breath patients may experience this by sleeping in a chair at night, sleeping on three to four pillows. People also feel tried worn out and may not be able to do their daily activities. If a patient has abdominal pain the liver fills with fluid.
Depending on the age of a person where it is an elderly man or women or someone in their 20’s any one can get cardiovascular disease. There best way to prevent it is have your doctor do an echocardiogram. Which is an ultrasound of the heart and you get the result right
