Becoming A Life Saver Everyone in the world needs help and saving sometimes, here are a few of the requirements it takes to become that person. These are just a few of the requirements to become a paramedic. First off one would have to take college classes to become a paramedic starting with general study classes. These classes include English course, Mathematic courses, Sociology and Phycology courses. Other classes you will have to take are Health and Science classes. A few example of Health and Science classes would be, Etymology, Pharmacology, and Anatomy.
It takes two years to get a degree in Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Services also known as A.A.S, there is also a three month EMT basic program a person can take. The three month program qualifies someone to work in the Emergency Medical Field or to further their education and become a Paramedic(NPCC). Additional things a person will need to do the three month program would be G.E.D or high school diploma, to be eighteen years of age or older, no felony convictions. Another requirement after school a person will have to take a state test to be a certified Paramedic. When preparing for the state test a recent graduate can take an Emergency Medical Technician refresher course. After the test is passed a student will be a state certified Paramedic, then that person can start seeking employment in several different places such as, working for government institutions, hospitals or independent companies. When someone obtains an A.A.S degree this is what a graduate can expect in terms of what their salary might be. A

The second job career I did further research on is Emergency Nurse and while doing further research I found out that to become a Emergency Nurse you must become a Registered Nurse first. “The primary prerequisite for working as an emergency room RN is to be licensed by the state to work as a registered nurse. The health dangers imposed on paramedics are daunting when observed from the outsider’s perspective. They have constant exposure to contagious and infectious diseases from their patients or needles that may be haphazardly placed. Infectious diseases are especially dangerous for paramedics because they receive patients at the peak of the infection instead of through the treatment process, they are also the individuals who are least protected against the possibility of infection because they lack the time and proper equipment to ensure quarantine. Patient and paramedic interaction is an important indicator of exposure risks since many times paramedics must carry patients from emergency situations; as a result they have physical contact with their patients as opposed to nurses and doctors who only get exposure through secondary contact (Boyd 2003). Paramedics are also exposed to numerous chemicals that could cause burns or…
