The art of procrastination has troubled high school kids for quite some time now. Im sitting here typing my own essay at the eleventh hour, hoping that as the deadline approaches I can piece together an essay to save my grade. “Procrastination is for the efficient at heart”, this quote captures the procrastinators only strength: the ability to make the most out of the time they have. Most students will crack as the pressure of meeting the deadline with quality work overbears them, as they regretfully wish they spent their time wiser. Few will rise up to the challenge and meet the standards, but what separates the students who succeed and those who miserably fail?…

The assignments I feel students procrastinate on more would be writing an essay and submitting class discussions. Essays usually have to be longer than one page of writing so most students think “I will do this on Friday or Saturday. It won’t take me long.” Then it ends up not getting done on time because the essay has required a lot more research than the student was prepared for. Students procrastinate on class discussions usually because we all have to reply to other students and carry a conversation so the student will wait until last minute to turn the discussion in so that they don’t have to carry a conversation back and forth.…

All children are required to graduate high school, but pursuing higher education is only recommended. While high school curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education, students learn essential career readiness skills while enrolling in higher education classes. Since students are not obliged to pursue higher education, many students who decide not to continue their education lack the skills necessary for future careers. While some schools hope to implement career readiness for either all their students or for only the students who do not wish to pursue college, other schools do not want to offer career readiness programs as they believe that it offers incentives for students not to attend college. Schools should require all students to take career readiness classes as…

The majority of the student body would agree that waiting until the last minute to begin school work could only influence your grade negatively. By doing this I rushed myself to complete the work before I went to bed. I also lost sleep doing it which affected my ability to learn in class as well. I did not allow myself enough time to finish the assignment and if I did not know the answer to a question I would just write something down. Rushing myself made me unorganized, and my grades began to reflect how much time and effort I was putting into my school work. I will not wait so long to begin assignments…

I study very hard and put a lot of effort into my school work. In high school I really enjoyed getting involved. My Sophomore year I managed the swim team which I continued to do until I graduated. My Junior year is where I found my love for cross country. I ran both my junior and senior year and it really helped me mentally and taught me that anything is possible if I just put my mind to it. Also My Junior and Senior year I was apart of student council and the prom committee. We put in a lot of time and effort into making sure school events went smoothly.
