Career Eassy
My grandfather owns one of the companies and the other one is jointly owned by my father and his two older brothers. I worked as an administrative assistant in the family business. My responsibilities included hiring new drivers after checking their credentials. It is very easy to get a driver’s license issued in India with the help of bribe. I never took the written or driving exam for the license but got one issued by bribing the employees at the motor vehicle department. I also contacted travel agencies for assignments and arranged meetings with them. Most of the car and bus rental services that we provide are for the foreigners who travel to India. I was also in charge of accounts payable and receivables.
I got the opportunity of coming back to the States and finish my bachelors after my younger brother joined the family business. I did my bachelors in management information system and after finishing my bachelors, I decided to finish my masters as well before returning back to India. I decided to do my masters in human resources as I was basically working as an administrative assistant for my father and part of my job was staffing and recruitment which isn’t really a rocket science in our business. I am expected to join back the family business once I finish my masters and return to India. My uncle and I had some differences while running the business. He is set in his ways and believes that his way is the right way to run the business. That is why I decided to finish my bachelors and masters as that would give me a backup in case I decide go my separate ways.
I am planning to find something in HR field after returning back to India. Having a degree from the United States makes it easier to penetrate into the job market in India. Again my family would have to agree with me before I could accept any HR job. The idea of me working for another company isn’t what they are looking forward too. And given my culture, it’s hard to go against their wishes.

In “’Guys Are Just Homophobic,’" C. J. Pascoe sums up fag discourse with the lines “Through making homophobic jokes, calling other boys gay and imitating effeminate men boys attempt to assure themselves and others of their masculinity” and “ Jeremy emphasized that this insult literally reduced a boy to nothing, ‘To call someone gay or fag is like the lowest thing you can call someone. Because that's like saying that you're nothing’” (177). Through these line, Pascoe is saying that fag discourse is when men are fueled to use the term fag to assure everyone that they are the hegemonic masculinity. We learn about hegemonic masculinity from R. W. Connell’s “The Social Organization of Masculinity.”…

How often have you heard the chant I-L-L-I-N-I? Here on the campus I hear this chant a lot in support of school sprit. As a child, I always found myself participating in creative activities. My siblings and I were always playing make believe from acting as if we were in college or grown up to running up and down our neighborhood’s sidewalks as secret spies on a mission to save the world! When I was first introduced to writing short stories in grade school, I became hooked because I could literally depict any image I wanted to and that sparked my 7 year old brain. There were always movies playing in my head; it was crucial to me to produce those visions. Now, as a senior in high school, I have become partial to not only writing fictional narratives but non-fiction narratives as well. I have applied and been accepted to Clark Atlanta University…

The FBI special agent career has five divisions; Intelligence, Counterintelligence, Counterterrorism, Criminal, and Cyber. Counterterrorism is responsible “to detect, disrupt, and dismantle terrorist sleeper cells in the United States before they act; to identify and prevent acts of terrorism by individuals with a terrorist agenda acting alone; To detect, disrupt, and dismantle terrorist support networks, including financial support networks; To enhance our capability to quickly ascertain the reliability, implications, and details of terrorist threats and to improve our capacity to disseminate threat-related information to local, state, and federal agencies, and to the private sector as needed; and to enhance our overall contribution to the U.S. Intelligence Community and to senior policy makers in government by providing timely and accurate in-depth analysis of the terrorist threats and other information of value on an on-going basis.”…

The career I picked for this project is a Biomedical Engineer. Biomedical engineers are employed in hospitals, in research facilities of educational and medical institutions, in teaching, and in government regulatory agencies. They often serve a coordinating or interfacing function, using their background in both engineering and medical fields. When working in a hospital the biomedical engineer may provide advice on the selection and use of medical equipment, as well as supervising its performance testing and maintenance. They may also build customized devices for special health care or research needs. While working at a research institution they supervise laboratories and equipment, and participate in or direct research activities in collaboration with other researchers with such backgrounds as medicine, physiology, and nursing. Some biomedical engineers are technical advisors for marketing departments of companies and some are in management positions. Some biomedical engineers also have advanced training in other fields. For example, many biomedical engineers also have an M.D. degree, thereby combing an understanding of advanced technology with direct patient care or clinical research.…
