Career Goals

After graduating high school there are many questions you must ask yourself but the most important one is, what is your career goal? A career goal is very important after graduating high school because it is not just a job it is a career, something that you want to be and succeed at in life. There are many careers and you will probably be interested in more than one and that’s fine because a career is something you must enjoy.
I have more than one career I want to pursue, I have two. I have two careers I want because they are both something I enjoy and they both can correspond with each other. Many people pursue more than one career, some more than others. I feel as long as you enjoy your career that’s all that matters. I personally would rather have a career that I love and enjoy that pays less than a job I dislike and pays well. The careers that I chose are Cosmetology and Photography.
I choose Cosmetology as a career I would like to pursue for many reasons, one of them being because cosmetology takes a lot of work not just with your hands but also your mind because for cosmetology you have to be very creative. To be a cosmetologist you have to be really artistic and creative. Cosmetology takes more than just listening to your client and what they have to say you have to put their words to life. Also to be a cosmetologist you must be very good with your hands because in this career field it is very hands on and you’re almost always using them whether it’s from cutting to styling to working at the desk scheduling. To be a cosmetologist is not too complicated when it comes to finding the right school. There are many colleges specified just for this career field. To become a cosmetologist it is only about one to two years of school. But those years will not come easy to you if you are not dedicated to doing this. Cosmetology school can be very difficult if you are not determined. This career is all technique and skill and to learn them you must try and practice and never give up. Cosmetology school just teaches you the basics and gives you a degree so you can go out in the real world onto the field to actually perfect you skills. Once you have a job it will take time before you build yourself a cliental and before you actually perfect your skills. After many years you should finally have a name for yourself and a cliental you are proud of.
I also choose photography as a career I want to pursue for many reasons; one of these reasons being ever since I was little photography has always been an interest of mine. Photography has always interested me like it’s amazing how you can look at one thing and think something then take a picture of that thing differently than how you were looking at it and it changes your whole perspective on it. To be a photographer is not easy at all you definitely have to be determined. It’s very difficult and there are many things you must learn. Only a few colleges provide photography many of those few being specified just for this field. Photography school should only be about a year to two years. To be a photographer you have to have a good eye. You have to know what to look for and know where to place it in the picture to get the best results. After becoming a photographer you still have a ways to go. Just like cosmetology the college only teaches you what you need to know to graduate. After you graduate you have to perfect your skills and see what works best for you. After many years you should finally have a name for yourself and should be proud of yourself.
There are many careers to choose from and these two are the ones that interest me. These careers can correspond with each other in many ways but I only have one use for them. Career goals are very important. They are what guides you in life to succeed at what you enjoy.
