Since completing undergraduate Speech and Language courses at Wayne State University, I am able to transfer my knowledge into my workplace. I thoroughly enjoy being around kids every day. I am currently employed as an Assistant Teacher at Lil’ Peoples’ Place Daycare. I often see the early onset of Speech and Language Disorders at my workplace. Seeing this, compels me to further my knowledge so I am able to provide services for the children in need. I am regularly told children are instinctively drawn to me. I give off a sense of trustworthiness to the children. They feel that they are able to connect with me. This is an ideal trait to have in the field of Speech Language Pathology, especially while building rapport with the child and family. I want to provide services to children who are in need of Speech and Language therapy so I can better their lives. I will be able to provide this service efficiently with the many skills that I bring; such as being compassionate, open minded, a team player, a hard worker, motivated, and a people person.
