Career Plan Reflection
Throughout the last six weeks I have learned the different ways a person should manage a team or employees, leadership theories, and application in which will help me advance my career in the business field. I have been in teaching for fifteen years so this is a big change for me to switch to business and working more with adults than children. This class has helped me to see the different ways to manage a group of employees by leading with training, compassion, to have goals for myself and my team. This class has helped me to understand all the obligations that a managers has to do in their position.
The career plan helped me to line out my career exploration and helped me set my career goals for the future. According to the career plan page the next steps in my career plan will to find a career that best suits me and the steps that I must start searching for a career and do job searches. I then will be able to explore my job careers that are available to me and the one I think I will work best in my career path. The career plan helped me to look at where I would like my career plan to go. It showed me that I would like to be a business/management analyst, administrative manager or program manager. I agree with this recommendations, because management is my goal after I graduate.
Now that I know the type of manager I want to be and my career goals I now need to learn to market myself to employers and to get my resume updated to be more professional and to show my assets. I will also need to set up my job search. This will help me to embark on my journey as a manager in the business field.
