My friends and parents say that I have the maturity to handle real-life work scenarios and the competency to work fast and proficiently. I would describe myself…
Conscientiousness is when a person is more organized, punctual, has a higher desire for achievement, and is very dependable. A perfect example of conscientiousness would Amanda, who is our accountant in the cash office. Amanda’s job as an accountant at Belk are keep the books organize, order supplies and change, count money in registers and the vault, be dependable, and make sure registers are prepped for opening/closing. Extraversion is a when person is outgoing, sociable, and enjoys being in social situations. Extraversion would describe my position best as a sales associate and Karen Kane specialist. Sales associates are required to provide excellent customer service by taking the initiative to perform the top five customer service expectations:…

When it comes to the Chinese in America the are not seen as one of the first settlers here in California/ America, but they were. Also during the gold rush is when one of the biggest ethnicity of immigrants were Chinese. The Chinese have made great contributions in the United States mostly in labor during the transcontinental railroad uprise in the 19th century. Instead of being seen as great hard working cheap labors the Chinese were discriminated against and look down upon in the White society. In reality the Chinese brought us new great agriculture, industrial development and commercial fisheries. Without the Chinese America may have not developed its infinite ways of new evolutionary expansion during those times. In the 21st century we…
My Myers-Briggs Type Indicator profile is Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving or INFP. In a professional setting I am usually a catalyst and focus more on the growth of people rather than the growth of the organization. My optimistic outlook, ability to genuinely empathize, and proficiency in adapting to various communication styles makes me highly affable and influential in the spread of ideas. I am also able to translate technical, hard to understand information into layman’s terms (Blumenthal, 1991; Butt, n.a.-c; Butt, n.a.-d)In an academic setting I learn best when I receive or am able to find an in depth explanation regarding the subject and any questions pertaining to it. I prefer theoretical and concrete material over practical…
Very rarely so we take stock in our own well-being in the workplace and even less time is spent on determining if our personalities fit within the expected model of behavior that is expected at the organization for which we are part of. Occasionally it is good to sit back and look at oneself and determine what your personality traits are and if they coincide with your goals. According to Wan Ismail and Awadh (2011), personality can be a determining factor in one’s job performance. Further research has shown that personality differentiates one person from another (Beer & Brooks, 2011) and that personality traits remain steady and stable through ones work life (Myers, 1998). Being able to understand your own personality traits is important to unlocking your own job satisfaction needs and leadership and management abilities.…
For example in my own personality and behavioral style I do enjoy interacting with various people whether it be socially or professionally. Being extroverted I find being around people to be energizing and uplifting. I tend to find myself easily bored when not stimulated by conversation or social activity. When I speak, I tend to formulate my ideas as I'm vocalizing them. I am not always quite sure of my ideas until I hear myself vocalizing them. I also enjoy debating and playing devils advocate in a sense to make people think and interact with me as well. I will get into a healthy debate with a friend or colleague just for the social and verbal interaction. Innovative by nature, I tend to be ahead of times when it comes to personal styles, ideas, and trends. I'm always looking for a new style, technology, or idea to formulate into a tangible project. I often find myself coming up with ways to improve the technology I personally own by implementing new software and/or hardware. Also at times I do find myself neglecting projects that should be completed due to my constant over thinking the project as a whole.…
In the Myers-Briggs Type indicator/Jung’s Typology Test results I scored ENFJ, which stands for extrovert, intuitive, feeler, and judger. These results seem extremely accurate to me. I do enjoy spending time with people, talking to them, and trying my best to understand them. People fascinate me yet I find it difficult to open up to the people around me, which is a common characteristic among ENFJ’s. Being intuitive, I tend to look at the big picture rather than detail. I rely on my gut rather than my conscious. As a feeler, the decisions I make tie in with the values I grew up learning, leading with my heart and naturally gravitate towards people. Lastly, as a judger, I am super organized! Having a preference towards planned and settled activities.…

I’m always cheerful and I don’t easily let others put me down because I know what I want to be and I’m going to make it come true. I always look at the positive things and I’m determined in making my dreams happen. I’m a trustworthy and responsible person that anybody can rely on.…
My personality type is very outgoing and optimistic. I am always eager to learn new things and experiment when it comes to different learning techniques. I know that with over the course of years when going to school it has helped me become successful in my courses. The strength of my personality is great because I will not stop going over a lesson until I grasp the full concept. If there is something that I am not understanding I will keep trying until I full understand the course work that needs to be done.…
I thought the career exploration assessment was helpful. It was helpful because I am just starting my first semester of college, and I am always looking forward for advice and guidance to choose the best career path fit for me. I took the “My Career Planning Readiness” exam and received good results. According to the results, I am doing well. The “My Academic Strengths” exam reinforced my strengths and weaknesses in the many different subjects. For the “Work Interest Assessment”, I scored the highest for social, then conventional, and lastly investigate. I am not surprised to see my scores the way they are because I want to become a nurse. Nurses are helpers. They aid sick people to get well. Secondly, I also think that conventional fits me…
The career assessment survey. This survey told me I am mostly a tactile learner. I learn with hands on activities. I use my hands a lot and I do agree with the career cruising survey. This survey led me to the job of a sports marketing manager. This is the part I do not agree with. This job was my third career option that career cruising gave me. I believe this would be an ok job for me because; I would probably be doing a lot of traveling with the team that I work for, and I do like traveling. This isn’t really using your hands a lot besides typing on your computer and holding your cell phone when making business calls. In a way though I am interested in this career because; I have the opportunity to attract…
I chose to do the self-assessment of CareerLeader to try and help me get a feel for what career fields connect with my motivations and my interests. My interests rated as a personal high was not a surprise to me with the application of technology, being the highest score with 87. The description behind application of technology was interested in learning about and using new technologies. Enjoy analyzing and designing (or redesigning) business processes such as production and operations systems. Which is relatively true I enjoy doing in-depth research into the newest upcoming technology and how I can use it. The description section about enjoying analyzing the business process stood out to me, I catch myself doing this often in any situation I’m a part of. One thing CareerLeader said to be aware of was if I was seeking a job in the engineering field some places will not accept me if I do not have an engineering degree. I took this interest as being more relatable to the newest technology a company could use to help its sales, finances, and PR.…
