Paper #2

If there is one thing that I truly and honestly deep down are passionate about is my faith in Christ Jesus. I am a Christ follower but my denomination is called Baptist. The reason I care about it so much is because I know he is my Lord and savior. I have been going to church my entire life so I have been taught and have learned a lot about what it means to be a Christian. I have had many mentors like Sunday school teachers, youth pastors, and especially my grandparents and mom that have taught me things just by me paying attention to how they do things. Plus it really helped me when I started middle school and especially high school. Those people really cared about me and stuck around to make sure I did well in life and just encouraged me. Having the title of a Christian in this world people are always looking at you to see if you mess up and how you react to certain things. So it is my responsibility to be an example of Christ so that people who are not saved know that it is okay to mess up, because God will forgive you if you just ask him. Having people in my life to help me out along my way is very important to me. I find it very helpful to have someone who has like forty or fifty years of experience in life to let me know kind of what I am up against. I mentioned my grandparents and my mother as being a huge part or my growing experience. My mom hasn’t always been around but for me she still is a huge blessing because of what she over came. My mom messed up and started doing drugs and was leaving me and my brothers at home when we were just kids. She would go off and do drugs and be gone for months and then those months turned into a year and eight months. So while my mom was away my grandparents had to take care of me and my brothers. They showed me what a marriage should be like. My pappy showed me how a godly man is supposed to carry himself and my grandmother wasn’t just good at cooking but at encouraging me when I was down. They would read the bible every night with me and my brothers. So when my mom came back in my life I knew that she was ready for us. I could she that she had changed and that Christ had done something to her inside of her. She now works very hard to provide for us and is an example of just one of the many things miracles that God does. That is one of the main reasons why try to do my best to follow Christ everyday. I try to be the best example I can be but I mess up all the time. Hopefully one day I can impact the world for Christ. So with saying all that the thing I am most passionate about is my faith in Christ Jesus. He helps me everyday and uses different people to help me. I might mess up but it is my responsibility to be an example of Christ so that people who are not saved know that it is okay to mess up, because God will forgive you if you just ask him.

    Care and Belonging

Allison J. Pugh took the words right out of my mouth when writing her article on parents spending too much money on material items for their children. Commodity consumption for children has exploded to $670 billion spent annually on or by children in the United states in 2004 and there is a good chance its only getting higher. She branches off in the article going into several different topics on how the adults and children are effected by their desire to want to belong in society and how it affects the relationship between the parents and the children. It also focuses on the corporate marketers and how they tend to sell a fantasy to the children, reeling them into having a desire to have the product. This being done by the marketers, it also allows the parents to have the desire for their children, resulting in buying the product.…

In this paper, I am going to share my ideas of theology. I believe that one of the biggest mistakes I made in the past was that I was afraid of being rejected, so I wrote a theology paper and tried to give the previous COM what I thought they wanted to hear instead of what was truly inside of me. Fortunately for me, even though I was not given a green light in order to see the Eccleastical Council, I was licensed to preach and this gave me time to wrestle with my theology and helped me to see where I stood on these very important areas of Christian faith.…

    Philosophy Of Caring

By relating and defining these four concepts mentioned above, I developed my philosophy of nursing based on Watson’s theory of caring. Jean Watsons theory of caring proposed that, “caring is the unifying focus for the nursing practice”(Kozier & Berman, 2012). Along with Watson’s, I’m also a big believer that the practice of caring is one of the most essential aspects of the nursing profession. One of Watson’s assumption was that “caring promotes health more than does curing” (Kozier & Berman, 2012), and that’s exactly how I felt when I encountered a sad situation with a patient during my clinical rotations in school. This female patient was being treated with chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer, and on this specific day was feeling more nauseated…
