INTRODUCTION

Carlos P. Garcia is the eighth president of the Philippines and the fourth president of the Third Republic of the Philippines after he succeeded the remaining eight months of the term left by Pres. Ramon Magsasysay after dying from a plane crash. He was president again after winning the 1957 election. He was one of the presidents who has been exposed to politics for long and have had many experiences. He has been a governor, congressman, senator, and vice- president.
Indeed, he is one of those educated presidents, proven by a Law degree. Even before he was president, he has already shown his willingness to make Philippines a better country. He was one of those who helped in collaborating with USA to seek for assistance just for the recovery and reconstruction of the Philippines from the war.
The highlights of his administration were the Filipino First Policy (which is said to be what he is known for), Austerity Program (that didn’t became that successful), Bohlen–Serrano Agreement, and many more. They said that the main focus of his administration is to improve the economy of the Philippines and make it independent to other countries from its needs.
Can we really consider former Pres. C.P. Garcia one of the best presidents of the Philippines? Did his programs and laws benefited and made Philippines a better country? Did he fulfill conscientiously all his duties as a president? Let us know more about the economic policies Pres. C.P. Garcia has made for the improvement of the Philippines.

After having a thorough read of the novel ‘Jasper Jones’ by Craig Silvey, I have come to understand the powerful effects of using written codes and conventions in novels. Silvey’s impressive piece of literature was carefully constructed through techniques such as characterization, socio-cultural context, themes and intertexuality. By doing this, Silvey was accredited for convincing the readers, appealing to their emotions and manipulating their beliefs and values to accept or agree with his opinions on the issue covered in the novel.…

Clothes are simply defined as “items worn to cover the body” however they are seen as much more than that. Clothing has always been a way of defining social hierarchy dating back to the ancient times, when peasants wore cheap clothing of wool or cotton and royalty were adorned in the most brilliant imported fabrics and silk. The idea that someone who may dress better is more appealing, and someone who dresses the opposite is less appealing is a concept that even the society today believes. However, in the end the real reality of it all is that even though people appear to look different than one another, that does not establish who they actually are. The man who…

Public office is all about public trust. People’s perspective on the effectiveness of a president does not merely lie on the constitutional basis. It is not included or mentioned neither in the Constitution nor under its laws and regulations that the public trust must always be present in each and every president-elect of The Republic. Public trust is being determined by the people; so the power of a president in a democratic nation like Philippines lies on it. Because power is all about control, a president won’t be able to have the power over his or her fellow people if they don’t possess any trust on him; therefore, he cannot control these people with his words.…
