Much to his own surprise, Carlin won the primaries and was the Democratic candidate for the 1978 election. His opponent, Robert Bennett, was running for reelection as governor and many didn’t give Carlin a chance in winning. Too many Kansans surprise the race ended up being closer than what any would have guessed it to be. For both candidates, it was a campaign of ads and discussing the major issues they would both be wanting to change if they were to win office. For Carlin, one certain aspect that he included in his ads, which his opponent did not, was to focus on the major issues that he and his campaign manager were willing to fix more than what his opponent was. This issue was the untidily issue and the Republican candidate realize all of this just too late for it to change the outcome of the election.…

She is of the opinion that the way it is being tackled exhibits generational obliviousness. The difference in bullying in her and her son’s generation has been that the line between the aggressor and the victim has been drawn thicker. Ayn Rand believes in the First Amendment but doesn’t believe in a two party system (15). The First Amendment states freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion, and the right to assemble. A two party system is closely similar to the United States with our Republicans and Democrats. A one party system would be closely similar to North Korea and their leader, Kim Jong-un. Obviously the one law she would have to agree upon is the First Amendment considering that it contains the basic freedoms (i.e. speech, press). Ayn Rand would disagree with how the US Constitution was made considering that a two party system was originated from it (Federalists v. Anti-Federalists or Republicans v. Democrats). You can tell that she has these sort…

In episode twelve, Kimmy finally sets out to make sure her captor goes to prison for his crimes. She goes to trial and confronts the man who kept her locked in a bunker for fifteen years, Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne. The episodes about the trial seem to be attempting to criticize the way our justice system believes (or rather does not believe) women. When we watch the Reverend manipulate everyone in the courtroom, including the prosecutors, it seems insane how easily he did it — surely that could never work in real life — yet, that is the reality that we face. The final episodes, which feature Tina Fey as an incompetent prosecutor, are essentially satirizing the justice system’s imbalance and ineptitude at securing rape convictions.…
