The Case study of H.M., Henry Molaison, is about a man who struggled from a very severe case of amnesia. What actions should the ICMHA director take about the alleged HIPAA violation in the case? This would definitely be an issue of considering these employees work history to see if this has happened before. Even though the work load is heavy due to losing an employee, I would have to look into suspending these workers and do a check into their work history. There would be talks with this family and grandmother who overheard them. It would possibly come down to sending them to another place for help and paying for them to get that help. There would also be an audit should be done on the department to see if this is happening…

I should act in good faith when I suspect misconduct or malpractice within the setting. I should think hard about is worrying me and why before speaking up. If I feel after thinking hard about the concern then I should report to my manager/supervisor in charge. I should right my concerns down giving background details, history, names, witness names (if any), dates and places. The more I can write about specific things will help. An investigation will begin and both parties will be adequately informed with any progress that has been made and a timescale on how long the investigation will go on. Support should be offered if required and both parties can defend any complains and give their version of events that have happened. All information disclosed from both myself and the accused are all kept confidential and are investigated discreetly. If a situation arises where a case cannot be resolved without revealing identities, they will discuss how they can proceed. If you feel nothing happens about your concerns and you feel you cannot talk to your manager then you would have to contact the early years advisor in your area. It is the role of the whistleblower to appropriately report or respond to possible misconduct, however it is not the whistleblower’s role to investigate the misconduct or to give out their own…

To investigate this incident, I would begin by collecting the facts of the situation as it happened from both the Physician’s assistant and the patient involved. I would also review company policy and procedure which must be in place as mandated by the Act. I would also question the employee on policy and procedure to assess their understanding procedures in place and to determine if modifications are needed in employee training in this area. Then, an audit should be performed to determine if this is a onetime event or an ongoing concern.…

My reasoning is that Duran is innocent from unethical practices from extorting financial gains from TAP. According to Senator Charles Grassley, "having informants report on company wrongdoings is the best way to prevent illegal activity. There can never be enough bureaucrats to discourage fraudulent use of taxpayer's money but knowing colleagues might squeal can be deterrent" (Judge, 2007) p.179.…
