Case 10: The Group Facilitator
Throughout case 10, the group facilitator did not consider the welfare of the clients in accordance with ACA, ASCA and AMHCA codes. All three codes highlighted the ethical and unethical decisions in the case; however, AMHCA and ACA have the most relevant codes because of the implications of the facilitator’s actions to both the clients in a group setting. Regarding the competency of the counselor, all three codes share the importance of being competent which is vital leading a group session (ACA C.2 professional competence, ASCA code E.1, AMHCA C.1).
