ABSTRACT
This study aims to know how online media affects the identity formation of the youth nowadays. It includes how online media, especially the social networking sites, affects the activities that the youth are engaged. Different social networking sites, especially Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are those sites that the youth are exposed. Through these three, a different way of identity formation has affected and changed its users. Digital natives often use these as the way of bursting out their feelings, opinions and emotions towards a personal issue and about society. Their personal relationship is affected in a way that their confidence gradually lessens and they prefer online media as tool to satisfy their emotional needs.

INTRODUCTION
In today’s world, technology is always present and been part of the daily living of individuals. Because of the modernization, technology’s significance to the society is used in different fields, especially in communication and entertainment. Technology made it easier to connect people and it provides one-click entertainment to the users.
When it comes to communication, online media is one of the most important contributions of technology. It has been the fastest and easiest way, not only to kill boredom, but to express oneself. Updating status, uploading pictures, creating blogs/vlogs, creating tweets are some of the examples of expressing interest, ideas, and point of view through online media.
Filipino youth are mostly affected by the excessive influence of online media. Nowadays, they are the ones who are much exposed on internet usage. Public and private places like airports, coffee shops, schools and even homes are
